Quote from 5haz :A typical argument those who are desperate to discredit a team or persons success will use, did you know that often teams or individuals are successful because they are actually good?!?!?!

that would make sense unless it wasnt the overtime of the final of a wolrd cup were talking about here
at the very least the teams were evenly matches (otherwise the game would never have gone into overtime) and scoring 2 goals in such a short timeframe is just highly unlikely unless the first one (which wasnt a goal to begin with) had a ripple effect

Quote :Also, why do fans talk to eachother as if they are the teams, you? I don't remember scoring any goals?

bit of national pride of the kind that doesnt really hurt anyone (unlike all the other without exception stupid and misplaced types of national pride)
also there are companies in germany that are developing systems which were amoung other things intended to prevent something like the wembley goal from ever happening again (which in a way was what hitler tried to do preemptively)

But not impossible, Geoff Hurst was doing rather well that day after all.

Can't be proven either way really, only speculated, on an internet forum, over 40 years later.
