Experinces
Hello, I've got some experiences i truly hope will improve soon, I'm racing demo, Never liked it for a few reasons, Which, I am hoping buying S2 on the 25th of this month will make my experience 100%

1. People seem to instantly want to ban for them disobeying the road rules, For instance this morning. I was driving clearly on the race track, I am granted, Horrid, But i do know the racing rules back to front as i drive, And on the end of the long straight on blackwood(Not reversed) Someone tried to pass me on the outside, But they must have misjudged their car, And sort of did a "P.I.T" Or T-Boned themselves with my car , And spun out into the gravel, Apperantly, 6/8 people (Where did all these people see what happened??) Tried to ban me for HIS mistake, Saying I was a crasher, When clearly, I'm just trying to enjoy my racing experience.
(Now, If i should have hit the brakes earlier, And this crash was my fault, Please tell me, I want to be a very "Respected" Racer, If that's possible. EG. People know I'm following the rules of the road, And the like.)

2. Following the first, People never seem to obey the rules on the demo (Granted, Any Asshat could access the demo and start crashing) And pass at wrong times, Basically playing like it's NFS with "Ololol" Tire physics... Thats very annoying... It's not bumper cars on the chicane is it?

3. KY Oval... Is that themed like Nascars' Pocono, Or is it more Oval? This is very confusing as to me it looks like on some You-tube videos it's "Tri-Oval" Instead of a "Oval" Which one is which?

4. Framerate, Is it worse on other tracks? As in.. Are there more graphically intensive tracks than Blackwood? My computer isn't so hot, But, It should work out, This was just off the top of my head as i was posing this.

5. The buying of LFS Is assigned to your account correct? Because around christmas time i should be receiving a new computer, And i was wondering if LFS had any type of "DRM" Feature, Making it have say.. 15 installs Per licensee Or something of the sort.
(I might have totally skipped over something on the front page, If so, I apologize)

That's really all, I was just hoping some users could assist me more in what S2 is like, As I'm REALLY interested in it.

Sadly the banning thing is one of those things that you will have to get used to, although on demo servers it seems to be more common. The vote-banning can be disabled, and not so many S2 servers use it as far as I can remember.

Driver behaviour again, is hit and miss (sorry ).
The majority or racers are clean and fair, it's just the minority that get noticed for behaving like asshats.

I think you could class KY1 as a tri-oval, it certainly has 3 different corners.

Framerate is usually limited by your CPU (as long as you have a fairly modern GPU), due to the physics engine only using one core. South City is probably the most graphically intense track, as it is the one that was updated most recently.

Your LFS account can be used on any number of PCs.
You originally get 3 unlocks, then get an extra one every friday but can only have a maximum of 2 unused. Should you need more due to PC issues, you can email and ask for one. If a patch requires re-unlocking, we are all given an extra one.

For £24 GBP, you cannot really go wrong with buying S2.
With the additional content, you can then enter into some of the community run leagues, which offer better racing than the majority of public servers.

Thanks for your input! Highly appreciated And thank you for telling me about the somewhat DRM feature, That was puzzling me for abit

Demo servers: try and stick to the ones that have admins most of the times. I've had a good time in the Redline Racing, [AA] and the ZION servers. The vote-ban/kick (press 1 to vote to ban "...") is heavily abused, but it is sometimes needed to get rid of twats. The host can disable the ablity to vote to kick/ban, but that'll end up in chaos when an admin is not in the server...

The LFS manual is quite good, have a look in here: http://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/Main_Page
And yes, the KY oval is a tri-oval http://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/Tracks:Kyoto_Ring

Framerate: you can turn off some of the stuff in Options>Graphics. You can turn of skin downloads and use low res textures and compressed skins. You can still race well without the shadows and antialising.

Have a search in the forum, there should be a few pointers to improve the framerate.

LFS licences works with unlocks.

Quote :
3.1 You may install S1 or S2 on 2 computers for your own use or to race a friend on a Local Network.
3.2 You will initially be able to unlock LFS S2 or later versions 3 times. This allows you to unlock on two computers and keep one spare unlock.
3.3 We recognise that people may buy a new computer or reinstall their operating system from time to time. For this reason, we will automatically give you an extra spare unlock once a week (every friday morning), up to a maximum of having 2 spare unlocks available. The number of unlocks you have left can be found on your status page.
3.4 You must not give your username, WEB or GAME password to other LFS users.
