Not sure, I know that in the previous 2 seasons that number has gone down however. I couldn't find information on that anywhere.

278 Caution flags over the season, for an average of 7.72 per race.

There were 265 in 2010 and 305 in 2009

So it looks like it is staying pretty much the same.

Yeah, yellow flags were, and if you count out the plate races which are always stupid and annoying the lead changes wouldn't be quite as high really, but those numbers are in there every year I'm afraid

Competition cautions are always early in the race and are used when it has rained on the track since the last time that competitors were able to turn practice laps. Check tire wear and such.
