I installed LFS demo a while back, before I knew I was getting S2. Unfortunately, I must have forgotten to check the box for associating LFS with the lfs:// protocol in browser.

I've got a lot of custom DDS files that I've made, and I don't particularly fancy reinstalling because I know I'll lose something. So is there any way of assigning the protocol retrospectively?

The protocol doesn't show up in the list for default programs/protocols.

If you don't want to lose any files when reinstalling, just copy all files, that you want to keep, to another folder. Then uninstall LFS and install it again.

I don't know how to change the associations, either, I was trying to do so too.

normally if a browser doesn't know what to do with a protocol, it will ask you what to do with it. I think it should also allow you to browse for a program to use, which it will then remember.

If for some reason that doesn't work, you could always do it the silly way :
Rename your current LFS folder.
Install LFS to the original folder name
After install, delete the newly install folder (in the original location) and then rename the backed up copy again.

Guess it would be handy to have a registry tool for LFS that adds or removes linkages. One for me to remember.

lol, having a look at the LFS installer stuff, I found the attached LFS_Associations.exe which should do the trick :

EDIT: BTW the browser didn't let me choose a program. Not that that matters now.

Worked for me also on a 2nd install (dirty one from backup media) copied to HD then run that setup file.
