IGTC 2011: Season Rules

Sponsored by cargame.nl

Attached are this year's series rules. A few things have changed from last season, and the highlights of these changes are listed below. However, we encourage all drivers and team managers to read through the entire document at least once to avoid unnecessary penalties.
  • A2-2.3: Event starting time has been changed from 18:00 UTC to 16:00 UTC. There will be a 20-minute free practice/break between the 30-minute qualifying period and gridding. Races will begin at 17:00 UTC.
  • A4: Wind settings will be decided based on a random number generated between 1-20 (www.random.org). If the number is even, there will be no wind. If the number is odd, low wind will be used.
  • B1.3: No driver may drive more than 75% of the race distance. This percentage will be taken from the tracker.
  • B6: Missing 2 races during the course of the season will cause a team to forfeit their active teams list position to the next available waiting list team.
  • C1: Numberplates are no longer required on skins. Skinners may use simple fonts for numbers on the hood/bonnet and both sides. The IGTC sunstrip is also required. Driver names and flags are not required. See Season Skins thread for more details.
  • D1: 45s penalty has been replaced with -1L.
  • D2: Post-race points penalties have been replaced with time penalties.
  • D3: Teams have 1 hour after the end of the race to lodge additional protests.
  • E2: Protests made during the last hour of the race will not be ruled upon until after the end of the race. No in-race penalties will be handed out with less than 30 minutes remaining in the race.
  • H8.1: Drivers should complete a cooldown lap after finishing and return to the garage.
  • O1: Points system revised to add a 30th place, which receives 0 (zero) points. Don't finish last!
  • O2.1: Pole position yields 1 bonus point.
  • Q1.1: Blocking of messages will not result in a chat DT penalty if the driver immediately unblocks.

Rules updated June 22nd.

Summary of changes:

Quote :
  • G2) When the SC enters the final sector, it will accelerate away from the field and enter the pit lane. The leader should maintain a speed of no more than 100kph/60mph until he reaches the line and green cones that signify the beginning of the restart zone.
  • G3) After crossing the restart line, the leader may return to full race pace. At this time the green flag will be displayed.
  • G3.1) Once the leader has begun to accelerate, he must not slow again except in the case of natural braking points.
  • G3.2) No car may overtake the SC before it enters the pitlane. The leader should time his acceleration with this rule in mind.

Quote :
  • L3) Using Shift-P or Shift-S immediately after re-joining the track following a disconnection will not result in a DNF, provided the driver has not left the pit lane.

One more quick revision to the already-revised restart rules (for clarification):

Quote :
  • G3) After crossing the restart line, the leader may return to full race pace. Once the leader has returned to race pace, the green flag will be displayed.

Thanks to Jonathan Palmer for pointing out the ambiguity.
