Obsolete Video ... bloody annoying.
Gday,

I have been playing LFS for several years and wanted to go back and check out some old replays I recorded, only to find that since the BF1 came out the replays are not compatable.

Is there any way of fixing this? I have a heap of races and replays I would like to utilise in some video editing.

How about some form of converter/patch or something?? This is bloody annoying that these are not compatable.

Your best solution, I think, is to have another copy of LFS for this purpose that is not of the current patch. Reinstall the patch you need for the replays (to a different folder) and unlock it, no harm done.

I hit the same problem, but the solution is a breeze. You can still download the S2 Alpha Q from the archives on liveforspeed.net. Download, extract to a new directory, unlock with one of your spare unlocks (everyone got extra unlocks when we got the new patch), copy your old MPRs into the LFSQ\Data\mpr\ directory, and away you go

[EDIT] to add that the reason that the old MPRs and SPRs don't work with the new patch is because the physics have changed significantly. The old replay files contain physics data that can't be understood by the new LFS patch U version.
Ahh, didn't think of that I think I still have all the previous versions on a CD somewhere, I was a bit worried about using another unlock for that purpose, but if we all were given extra unlocks when the new one came out, then there's no prob

Thanks guys for the quick responses.

I'm not sure if it's the case here, but many people I've spoken to since the new patch don't realise that you get new unlocks every month to replenish any you've used.. up to a maximum of 2 (except when we got the patch and the max was 3). Barring major catastrophes, you shouldn't ever be stuck for an unlock, and even if you find yourself in that situation, a quick message to Victor is usually all that's needed to help you out of an LFS-less situation
What Sam said.

Best thing to do if unlocking a prev. version only for old replays would be to wait until the end of the month. That way, you use an unlock and get it replenished the following day on the first of the month.
Sounds like a good idea ... will try and locate version Q, will wait a couple of weeks, then unlock it. Then I will be able to go back and make some vids of some close races my mate and I had over the years =]

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

EDIT: Couldn't find my CD with it on, so tracked it down ... eventually. Could not find a link to the full version Q from liveforespeed.net, so started playing with different names in the address bar, until I found the full link for version P, and the patch for version Q All good now.

Full version P:

Patch version Q:
