I think too, very underrated guy. Shame that he gets that 10 places penalty on the grid, he was very fast so far this week end.
Anyway, Lotus isn't that far as some expected. Tag is only 0.7 off group 1 P1(Helio) in quali, SeaBass ony 0.6 off P1 in practice 3. The reason why the Lotus are hanging at the back is that the field seems to be amazingly close so far this year. If they get lucky yellows and/or attrition(which is very possible considering all the failures suffered by both Honda and Chevy during the winter) they could pull off some surprise results, who knows.
Rubens missing the cut while being only 0.23 from P1. Dario and Dixon a few hundredths from the elimination. The next 2 sessions(and the whole season) are gonna be CRAZY!!
Well, still. The gap over the first non-Penske(RHR) is huge(more than half a second), which is kinda unexpected. Looks like Penske never really showed their hand this week-end and the whole winter, despite having the reputation of being show-offy in practice.
Chevy seems to be the engine to have.
RHR and Hinch look really fast. Marco could hide behind Mutoh, Danica and Conway in the past, but this year he risks being the last AA guy if he doesn't up his game.
Castraneves, name to remember. Beautiful chase of Dixon, pit, overtook him few laps after they got back on track with new tires around the outside, then another move on some guy who didnt pit yet to take the lead straight away and pulled a huge lead. That's racing in style.
No. I only know few names from news here and there. Never watched an Indy race. Knew likes of Dixon, Power, Briscou, Franchetti, Andretti and well of course Sato, Bourdias and Barrichello now. But Castraneves is my new favorite.
I would have assumed if his racing accomplishments and long career hadn't made everyone aware of him, that tax-evasion row would have. Or Dancing With the Stars
It's just funny to us, because he's at least as big a name as all those names you listed.
Hehe. I had no idea that he's that popular. Very surprising to see newspapers writing nothing much about him then (read autosport.com). Let's keep our fingers crossed for the next round.
He's the most popular single seater driver in the States actually. Mostly because he won the US version of Dancing with the Stars a few years ago.
Don't miss him out this season. The guy is about to retire. Well, at least that's what most of the paddock and fans were saying before this week-end. If he keeps his strong form for the rest of the season, his situation might change
Would be amazing if he could have a go at the championship anyway. It's just wrong to think he hasn't got one yet. Now I guess that doesn't prevent him from sleeping at night, with all of those Indy wins
