Quote from Mustafur :I understand he has got diabetes and all but he is doing terrible for someone who is driving a Ganassi, he has never looked like he had potential despite being more consistent this year.

I just thought you wanted to avoid giving a driver with diabetes a "D"
Mustafur: You forgot Jean Alesi.
Quote from CSF :A former Formula one winner in Rubens D, shit in F1 Sebby B B

It was mostly rated on how they Drive in indy, not F1.
Quote from CSF :Just to point this out.......

Hence why i didn't exactly make Bourdais A(despite having probably the best Record in North America, Franchitti isn't F1 worthy(he is good overall on road courses and ovals but not good enough on road courses).

Clearly Barrichello wasn't F1 worthy if he couldn't stay(mostly on current form because i was rating them from an Indy perspective).
Quote from Kid222 :Mustafur: You forgot Jean Alesi.

Hard to rate someone who only did 1 lap
Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :I don't know, really... I don't like "driver ratings" and this kind of things so much, personally. Each driver have his or her own personnal story, career, and background. Reducting each individual to one single mere grade is not very informative.

One thing that strikes me in particular in your ratings, is the case of Rubens Barrichello and Ed Carpenter. On one side, the 19 years F1 veteran, 40 year old oval newbie Rubens Barrichello. On the other, 2000s IRL golden boy, oval specialist, pack racing lover, driver/owner Ed Carpenter. You can't do much different than the two of them. Yet, nevermind their borderline hyperbolic contrasts, both driver's career, achievements and talents are summed up with the same grade - D.

It's like comparing the climber and the sprinter in cycling. Both still compete against each other, but their difference in terms of background and speciality make any kind of comparison between the two of them almost irrelevant.

But anyway, speaking of grades, here are Robin Miller's and Curt Kavin's takes at mid-season reports.

Its mainly rated from since i watched Indy(around 2008), just now Im more in depth because I actually watched the full season this year(before i wouldn't even know half the drivers)I figured i would of missed out on alot of what they had done in their career though because i never watched IRL(only Cart was ever shown in Australia at the time) so i don't have much knowledge of past performances from there.
Quote from Cornys :I just thought you wanted to avoid giving a driver with diabetes a "D"

Well, afterall, Miss Legge got an "F"...
Quote from JackDaMaster :yep

Taking age aside, if you where an F1 team owner you would be stupid to take franchiiti over Power.

I probably should of ranked them on how they are in indy though if i did that, Dixon and Franchitti i would class as A.
Quote from CSF :He had the best Toro Rosso that the team has ever made and scored 4 points. He was very very abject in F1.

He wasn't given a fair chance at F1 though, Bourdais is an incredible talent.
Bad decision imo, its not needed with how good the racing has been.

I was liking the Gimmick free racing so far.
So much for a comeback season.

Indeed.

Its not as bad as KERS because its like a form of overboost(using previous standard boost)but either way it wasn't even needed, its not going to stop me from watching it thoug, i just liked how up till this point it was pretty much alone when it came to proper racing without gimmicks.
Will lotus have an unlimited amount?
Interestingly, it sounds like to do this they lowered the normal max boost, and the P2P system merely returns it to the old max level for however many seconds.
Quote from PMD9409 :Will lotus have an unlimited amount?

actually you might of stuck somthing here, because the boost is lowered to allow the boost to previous standard boost, lotus may not get any restriction on the turbo as a form of engine equalizer.

Randy has been talking about a program to get lotus back on pace.

I've got a better idea to get Lotus on pace: Build a better engine.

I seriously don't get all this performance levelling BS. If you want your equipment to win, make it better. Simple as. Everyone has the same rulebook. All this faffing about with equalization just dilutes the sport. The whole foundation of it was the best car won, that's the point.
Quote from MAGGOT :I've got a better idea to get Lotus on pace: Build a better engine.

And this is exactly what they are doing.

I'm pretty sure PMD and Mustafur were just offering wild speculation with their boost leveling theory. Unless they know something we don't know of.

Wrong place for this mate. Try here instead.
Don't get me wrong though, im for open Engine Regs, and if someone gets left behind then so be it.

Apparently this might help Reliability though because they are lowering the boost, because the engine failures this year have been quite extreme(every race numerous people have to get a new one).

I dont think you understand. That forum is just a lot of bitching. All I'm saying is that P2P is not a big deal and I don't understand why people are up in arms about it.
P2P ain't a big deal it's true, but personally I don't know why they feel they need it for Indycar.

That is a good point; maybe that's the driving factor with the boost reduction in the first place? The P2P is just a 'you still get to use all of it.. sometimes...'
