Checking out the actual origins of this may be helpful - lol

USA Pledge of Allegiance was origin of the Nazi salute & Nazi behavior

"The old method of extending the hand toward the flag was criticized by several national patriotic groups as being too much like the Nazi and Fascist salutes." There are photos and video that show the exact use of the same gesture. The sad part is that it was covered up so well that even today's journalists cannot address the topic, as seen above. Francis Bellamy and Edward Bellamy were American national socialists who influenced German national socialists, their rituals, dogma, and symbols (including the use of the swastika as crossed S-letters for "socialism" under the National Socialist German Workers Party, another discovery by Dr. Curry)

So, clearly he was pledging his allegence to the US, strange but interestingly true...........

This probably explains, partally, why GW Bush's grandad was bankrolling the Nazi party in the 20's and 30's and why he was eventually charged with aiding the enemy. Don't worry, it was all swept under the carpet.

His business dealings, which continued until his company's assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy. http://www.guardian.co.uk/worl ... sep/25/usa.secondworldwar
WOW Ruta is 15. Kudos to her, thats awesome. Olympic Gold Medalist at 15 years old.

Also proud of Jamaican Alia Atkinson managed 4th in the same finals. Jamaica is trying to spread their wings outside of track and field but its proving difficult lol.
Now here's my problem....

I turn on the TV and I essentially have a choice (on a day like today) of Swimming, which I hate after 11 years and some 7,000 hours of that shit, tennis, which I have Wimbledon for, or basketball, which I can watch constantly because I live in America. In fact, almost all the sports they show are sports that I can watch almost daily here. Why would I want to watch them again? Where's the obscure stuff? like target shooting, handball, BMX stuff and race walking? Show me the weird sports they are far more interesting!
"Twitter has brought down a hail of critical tweeting on its own head by suspending the account of a British newspaper's Los Angeles correspondent following his acerbic reporting of NBC's coverage of the Olympics."
"I have 1000 channels on my TV. Not one will be showing the Olympics opening ceremony live. Because NBC are utter, utter bastards."

You should have got with the program and brought their service for the wealthy.
It did cost NBC 2.2 billion after all............

I thought that stuff is spread over NBC Sports Network and Universal Sports while NBC picks the American market stuff. Or did I misunderstand it?
Btw: NBC cameramen are constantly in the world feed picture. Especially in the Aquatics Center during the introduction of the swimmers yesterday.
Quote from CSF :Also lol@ Twitter and Tom Daley today. Got a big laugh out of all of that rubbish. The boy that said what he said is a massive ****, but the mass reaction has been funny.

Apparently the police have been involved - they turned up at the kid's door this morning. What a ridiculous waste of public funds. Imagine if the police had to be dispatched every time somebody called Blueflame a bell end.
Police arrest child for nothing more than being a bit of a dick

#ProudToBeBritish
When you want an endless "war on terror tm" then even dickhead kids can be used to justify your budget.

And how much exactly ( or approximately ! ) has the UK spent to keep the Olympics safe from all these terrorists who only want to "take away your freedom" ?

( Given the current copyright laws, megadownload and all..... , that's a quote from GW Bush.
I believe it's a public domain statement ? )

Yes, it's all a joke to the rest of us..........

But for you it's real, get the point about Billy's opening ceremony yet ??????
I feel such a shame for that lithuanian idiot. And yeah... The guys who stands next to him is giving a right gesture.

Well no, he threatened to come drown him in the pool, not that you'd know it from the media. IF he'd just done his original thing there would be nothing the polis could do.
LOL, so much new swimming fans in basketball country, no one ever gave a single **** when she was swimming in world/youth/european champs whatsoever, suddenly she wins olympic gold and everyone raises her facebook fan page likes from few hundreds to ~15 thousand, causing a massive phychosis in very same Facebook, like they were hoping for that gold for 100 years. Catching tweets of SUPERSTAR FOOTBALLERS, "omg, RvP and Rooney tweeted about her, everyone appreciates her and Lithuania!!!111!!!!1!!" is ****ing ridiculous. Muppets

Nor she is a real lithuanian, she lives in UK for shitload of time and her coach is british. She won't even come back here and show the medal off, and even if she will, it will be a moment for a photo with asslicking politicians, who couldn't move a small ****ing finger to build a 50 meter pool to train in. "OOH WERE SO PROUD OF YOU, BUT SORRY, GO BACK TO UK BECAUSE WE HAVE MONEY ONLY FOR BASKETBALL PLAYERS, WHO CAN'T DEFEND PROPERLY IN A FIRST GAME OF OLYMPICS, STILL THEY ARE STILL OUR BIGGEST HOPE".

Don't be mistaken, I am happy for her, because compared to me or anyone else at 15, she did something tremendous. But again, everyone saying "WE WON IT" while sitting on a couch, drinking beer and scratching greasy belly while watching TV is not "WE", it was SHE who have won it.
Tom Daley should be ashamed of his actions, which in my opinion were far worse than the comment made by that kid. Tom caused masses of abuse to be directed to one misguided teenager, worldwide bullying took place on his say so, this even after the troll apologised for his comment, twice. Now even the media are gunning for the kid. It would take a very strong minded individual to stay strong during that much abuse and hatred, and not many 17 year olds have got to that point in their lives. I'm hoping this all blows over very quickly, and people forget about him, and I hope someone offers him some help to cope with the whole situation, otherwise I'm expecting to see the headline "Daley Twitter troll commits suicide" within a week.

Weird how the exact same thing applies here for football.

Recession time and half of the main league football clubs are the only ones who take a luxurious, moneywasting lifestyle while other sports with promising athletes get no support from the government because all the ****ing money goes to football. /OT Rant in white text.

Great times we live in... eh?
I don't understand shit about the games but we enjoyed watching women's beach volley in mute at work today
Quote from hyntty :I don't understand shit about the games but we enjoyed watching women's beach volley in mute at work today

Here there only was men's beach volley on tv, and instead of women's volley they show basketball. The ****?
I don't understand why there always should be butthurts? And what's the problem with the fact that whole country is cheering for its athlete? She is a kid and yeah, she lives in UK, so it's normal, that nobody really know about her. The Olympic Games are the best platform to find out a new athletes and cheer for them. Rūta Meilutytė was the biggest discovery. So, no need to cry for the situation if it's not a dramatic, negative and etc. This is purely positive, cheerful moment and we, lithuanians, should be just finally happy and not cry as we do usually.

They were showing some women's field hockey here over the weekend, I was an instant fan.
The 2011 Rallye Dakar winner Nasser Al-Attiyah won Bronze in skeet!

Edit: Protop, do not trust motorsport magazine tweets about the Olympic Games.
Ahhh so it didn't start yet, thought i missed all of it

Turned out the kid had sent death threats. Puts a diff perspective on it.
Quote from Intrepid :Turned out the kid had sent death threats. Puts a diff perspective on it.

Yep I just heard that he is a complete and utter arsehole that had previously driven people to near suicide through systematic bullying. He deserves everything coming to him. Although I still don't think Tom Daley should have called him out on it and made it public, just block the idiot.
Not sure if the "ignore poster" thing works in real life.

Unfortunately for him, he's the chosen target. It's a tough world out there.
But then as long as the media get a story and the forces of 'TWAT' justify their existence then everything keeps moving along.

Keeping the whole olympic thing going, WOW, we are in 33rd. Somewhat behind Phelps.........
