first of all i LOVE live for speed S2 verry realistic and a lot of online fun!

i have a suggestion for a World Touring Car Championcip mod. The cars are verry nice to see racing and i think it could be a verry popular class! on television it is always a exiting class to see racing.

something like 4 or 5 diffrent cars, FWD, RWD, Hatchback, Coupe. cars with +/- 300 hp based on a alfa romeo 156, bmw 320, seat leon, Honda accord, chevrolet and so on...



Drivers what do you think of this idea?

ANY new cars are fine for me. More cars, more fun, i think

I think it is a verry good idea especially for online championships.. you can do nation championships like BTCC ( brittish touring car championship ) DTCC ( Dutch touring car championship ) ETCC ( european ) WTCC ( world ) or OTCC ( online touringcar championchip )

there are a lot of opportunities with this kind of racecars.

The rear of the car looks verry spectaculair.. especialy the wheels out of chassis.

I agree it's a fun class to watch. but are you talking about a mod created by the community/third party? If so, that's not possible considering LFS is not moddable (yet).

no i dont know exactly how to whrite it but i mean it just like the new sauber F1 car in the LFS s2 U patch! a new patch but then with WTCC cars.

I don't think that there will be a Mod, because LFS is not modable.
I don't think that there will be a update like with the BMW Sauber, because the german commentarys said something of an WTCC Racing Simulation...

yes that is a problem.. but it does not have to be realistic names.. like the F08 look like a f1 car..

Simbin or whoever they are have the WTCC license iirc.

I understand There will probably be more cars added to the game in time. But there's not much/no chance that the cars you mentioned will be in the game though because of licensing costs.

yes i know.. i like it that there are no real cars in the game.. now you cant say ohh the car doesnt feel like in reality.. but just cars that look like wtcc cars.

I already suggested touring cars. TBO class, maybe a new one, slicks, less weight, a bit more power maybe, make them and UFR and XFR compete with eachother and there you go. TBOs would also need some apropriate styling
Ofcorse, a lot of people don't want to see more of the 'same' cars.

that is what i want to.. 4 or 5 cars with allmost or same prestations for a high competative class. the only car that realy looks like a touring car at the moment is te XF GTR!

just 1 or 2 Touring Cars is more than enough actually. Useless to have 4 or even 5

The above was done from the stock UF1000 before the UFR was announced so I didn't have that to work with at the time, but will have a go at creating one for the UFR.. maybe some more new wheels too

jarre, if the fzr gets a proper cockpit, i guess, we are pretty close to a dtm car...

I'd love to have a 4-door sedan. So we can have a more roadgoing car, but still heavy on weight and performance, and a DTM like version of the sedan. Or WTCC of course.

There is enough talent in the community to make new content for LFS, but the devs have been resistent to include anything.

Part of the problem is that it is hard to get technical information on what is required, for instance when designing a track layout are there requirements for vertex spacing, texture layer limitations, what method does LFS use for lightmapping (texture layer, secondary mesh), do we make the track as 1 mesh, should kerbs be on the same 3d surface as the tarmac? And so on, without that technical info we could submit work to the devs for free inclusion, but we might have wasted our time in making it and have to start over to make technical changes.

I would like to see LFS remain non-moddable, but I would also like to see the technical requirements posted for track & car models and have the devs open to submissions of community work.

One of the issues with community work of course is licensing. Has the author used fully royalty free media in their work, and will the author themselves demand a bit of the license fee etc.
