LX4+power+slicks vs XFR and UFR
I was just messing with Kegetys' slickmod and drove the LX4 with slicks. WOW... it handles so nicely. With a bit more power it could also match the XFR and UFR for pace, better under braking because of its lightness and in the conres because of its lower center of gravity and RWD, but not quite as fast on the straights. It would do two things - give people the racing LX they have been craving for and provide a RWD competitor for the XFR and UFR for which many people have asked. Also, I'm sure another car will go down nicely with most people.

if you want more power, try the LX6, always wondered what that would be like with slicks...

Too fast for the XF GTR and UF GTR and there's no excuse to make it even more powerful seing as making a race version should add power. On the contrary if you take an LX4 and turn in into an LXR, you have and excuse to give it a bit of extra grunt and let it keep up with the XF GTR and UF GTR.
The LX range could do with an update engines-wise. A nice low power model like the LX4 (say with 20bhp less, but 1.6ltr - now the tyres are sorted those cars can handle some torque), a high power 2.0ltr, say 200bhp, both on road tyres.

Then two with slick tyres, a mad @300bhp 3.5 ltr V8 model, and a very lightweight carbon fibred bodied bike engine model, 1.3litr and 160-170bhp.

Back on topic, I would like a RWD compeititor to the FWD GTRs but I don't think an LX model would be it.
I've been thinking a rwd car to match XFR & UFR, maybe something like this, but reduced power and racing chassis?

Yep, 1 or 2 RWD cars to go with the UFR XFR would be great. I prefer cars without downforce
+1 for LXR.
LX4 with slicks and modified chassis

would be great to have 3 cars in the no-downforce gtr's

But isn't the LX4 faster than the UF1 and the XFG?? So that means that the difference of the standard cars would be the same when the LX4 turns LXR so wouldn't it be much faster than the other 2 R's??

RB4 GTR! 4 cars

But isn't the XFG also much faster than the UF1?
Wasn't the suggestion to compare the beslicked LX4 with the XFR and UFR, not the XFG and the UF1?
The LX(R) could be supercharged.

We should have supercharger physics IMO. I don't really mean "drag" cars. I think that would be nice, because superchargers don't really provide an effect like a turbo. A supercharger makes an increase in power pretty much all across the RPM's. But, a turbocharger seems to make a more powerful gain in power, but primarily in the mid to upper RPM range.

That's just 2 more of cents.
what about something like this?

it was made by Taavi and posted [post=92578]in thread LFS Custom Car "Contest" WIPs [/post].

I mean something like that one. I know it's FWD but such cars like old escort were RWD, noone is bound with no specific car by that.
Ever thought about the tyres? XFR and UFR won't win against some rwd since the tyres last longer... may work in short races, but not with longruns...
