When I try to upload a hotlap to LFS world it tells me it isn't actually a hotlap. Yet I did it in the hotlap mode. Is there a chance that I have to delete the spr file that's already there and re-do the hotlap, or does it automatically update it?

Are you sure at least one of the laps was valid according to the verification system?

Yes the files are renamed each time you do a hotlap so you dont need to delete anything, if your .spr has a single number in it (BL1_FOX_2) then it means you didnt complete a full lap or any valid laps . If you .spr has a time in it (BL1_FOX_1.02.03) then it should be valid to upload.

It doesn't have a number. Yet when I did the fastest lap it was valid, a few before weren't. Does that matter? I'll upload it now.

The one you posted is a single player race, not a hotlap.

Oh right. That was the only spr file available in the spr folder. Those are where the hotlaps are stored, right?

only when you have uploaded a hotlap you can then hover your mouse over that online pb and it should display your HL time also

Ive just checked your stats and you have no hotlaps uploaded yet

Did you save your hotlap?
Either hit escape and click replay or press 2 and enter a file name.

So it doesn't automatically record? Bugger.

What about my second part of my post above?

Go to options / game , and look at the top line set to auto (not recomended) or just set to manual and press 1 , after you have completed a hotlap (2 is for multiplayer) if set to auto the replay is lost if you pit after doing your hotlap and is only saved when you shift R (restart) or exit via the escape key.

lfsw tracks your online PBs and your hotlaps separately, so your online PB won't change when you upload your hotlap. Which sucks because I'm slightly anal so as soon as I do something online I have to do it in hotlapping too, and vice versa. Heh.

I got it working. You can see my hotlap now... anyway thanks a lot guys.

cool! now you can work on it some more...i'm a noob too and I'm at 1:34.19, you can do it

also try the FOX at South City Classic - that one's a blast. hotlapping is fun!
