Hey there,

I was used to check the forum this way:

How can I do something similar now?

Now the link would be https://www.lfs.net/forum/search/userid/43

It's accessible from forum when you click on Scawen's nickname and choose Forum posts, or on his profile page.

Or, you can type user:Scawen into the search box.

Yes, gotta make something handy for that still.

In the meantime, here's some more voodoo :

Search options :

search for posts by username (you can use multiple to search multiple usernames)

user:<USERNAME>

search in post (thread) titles

title:<KEYWORD>

Keywords without one of these qualifiers will be searched in regular post texts.

Here are some (theoretical) examples :

Search in posts from a user :

user:victor wheel

Remember to put usernames with spaces in quotes :

user:"don Merino" wheel

Forgetting how to quote may still work fine :

"user:don Merino" wheel

Search username and title and post text :

user:victor title:wheel "calibration problem" solved

Search multiple users :

user:victor wheel user:drben

You can even be sloppy. These still work :

user:victor wheeluser:drben
user:victor wheeluser:"drben"bare

Thanks for the voodoo protips Victor.
Anyway right now if I do a search for Scawen's post, the today post (in patch test forum page 29) does not appear. Is it normal or is it some kind of search cache not up to date?

There IS a delay - (new) forum posts are indexed every 4 minutes. But that's minutes - not hours!

At the time of my previous post I did a search to double check. This was the last indexed post: https://www.lfs.net/forum/post/1871187#post1871187
This post (and the following) was missing: https://www.lfs.net/forum/post/1871240#post1871240
Now it is OK. But there was some bug for at least 5 hours.
