Round 5 of 9 :: October 5th, 2015
Track Layout: Kyoto Ring Grand Prix Long [with (Boothy-] chicane layout] [KY3]
Cars used: FZ50 and RAC
Qualifying Mode: 15 minutes race fuel qualifying
Race Mode: 27 laps [including a mandatory pit stop of at least 20 seconds]
Qualifying:
During qualifying all drivers will be allowed to complete as many laps as they wish, however, they will only be allowed to leave the pit lane once with the setup and fuel load they intend to use for the start of the race. When leaving pit lane, the exit blend line is not to be crossed! When leaving the lane, you must pay attention to not interfere with any other car's qualifying laps, the same applies to drivers who are lapping slowly for whatever reason (e.g.: to cool their tyres). For hot laps the same rule as always applies: Every driver must make sure there is a large enough gap to the cars in front before starting their lap. Slower drivers who are also on hot laps will not be required to move out of the way. They have the same rights to the ideal line as all other drivers do on a hot lap.
Should a driver receive a penalty during qualifying, for example a DT for speeding in pit lane, then that penalty has to be served at the earliest opportunity possible! Unserved penalties will lead to rear-of-grid penalties!
Please also pay attention to the oval chicane! To avoid yet more tyre stack slalom action, the many moveable objects have mostly been replaced by a concrete wall, with a small gap at the apex. At this point the shape of the corner is rounded off with tyre stacks, however, they shouldn't roll onto the racing surfance when clipped. Due to the seemingly tightened corner apex on the left hand side, it's even more tempting to shortcut the track on the right side. On the exit of the chicane we have placed a couple of poles which symbolise the absolute edge of the racing surface, the same is the case for the first and penultimate corners. Should drivers repeatedly be caught having more than half their car's width outside those absolute track limits, then they can be penalised with a DT.
After the session time has expired or after cancelling your last attempt, you will be required to drive back to pit lane. Any driver who spectates or telepits will be moved to the rear of the grid and will receive a stop-go penalty right after the start of the race.
Race:
As always before the actual start of the race: Laglap. For the start proper, please remember that the RAC's initial acceleration is somewhat better than that of the FZ5. Take care in the first few corners. It's easy to make a mistake at Kyoto, mostly in those places where the wall is rather close to the edge of the track. Additionally we would like to ask you to not constantly hit the poles we've put up in the chicanes and don't constantly cut through the gravel trap at the oval that much. Both of those things will be considered unsportsmanlike behaviour and could lead to penalties.
Since having a mandatory stop with a minimum stationary time proved to be quite a good idea, we'll have it again in this race. Every driver will be required to make a pit stop of at least 20 seconds on any lap (except the final lap) of the race. Which work you want to be carried out in that pit stop will be up to you, the important thing is that your stop doesn't end up being too short.

Everyone is asked to respect the rules on chatting: During all sessions, chat is always automatically closed unless the race administrator opens it.
