Organizing a race with prize. (was: Buying a license to another...)
Is there a simple way to buy a license to another user maybe in another country without needing to exchange passwords or credit card numbers etc.? I am asking for a feature that I could just buy a license to an existing registered user.

I would like to use this feature for example as a price to a race winner in a race that would be organized on my host. (How does this idea sound by the way? I would like to give an inspiration boost for demo-racers one nice day)

You can buy a voucher on the shop page and give it as a prize Smile
To extend post ahead - when you buy a voucher, you will receive a voucher code, which you can pass to that prize winner. He has to enter it in his account status page in marked field. Rest should be pretty self explainatory.

I modified the subject of the thread, to continue with my idea:

So the idea is to give one inspiration boost for people to race together. That would happen with promising one LFS voucher for the winner.

Since I have no experience on organizing races, I am asking hints on how the race should be organized, what things can be wrong.

Can the prize go to the wrong person? Should I watch the full reply before confirming winner? What things I should be aware of? How long the race should be?

And do you have opinions about the prize? Could it be defined in advance (s1, s2 or s3 voucher) or would it be a free choice for the winner?

My first idea was to organize the race for demo users so the winner would have S1 licence (and maybe later he buys S2/S3) how does that sound?
Hint number one - join some races organized by others, learn by watching.

About checking replays - noone does that,I mean watch full replay. In majority of races organized around here and usually also other communities, there is protest system. Basically every participant AFTER race can write a protest about other's action that does not comply with rules. Then you step in and decide if it was some violation of rules and if penalty can be given. But you should define stuff like that already in rules/event info. Check forum's leagues section and read what others have done (again - learn from others).
Prize - I doubt that choice should be free by winners,as everyone will chose S3 anyway. Big grin
Rest - lenght, combos,if pit neccesary or not - everything is organizer's choice, you decide what challenge to give, participants will decide if it's ok for them by signing up.
Oh,another important thing - organizing races means also controlling server, like starting qualifying/race,setting lengths etc. This means that you should know server commands - these you can find in your own lfs folder: lfs\docs\commands.txt

PS. Don't be too disapointed if you can't attract full grids - the community these days are pretty picky.
