Ah c'mon guys, Teacups are fun! The ones here in Ontario at Paramount Canada's Wonderland are pretty tame, though. They're actually not teacups, but they are barrels. Standard teacup ride, just mounted on a slope. No biggie, but fun! Can't say I've ever gotten sick on a ride, though. I guess I have a strong stomache when it comes to G's.

On a similar note... why are they called G-Forces if they pull you sideways and/or up? I know the numbers are essentially a ratio to the force of gravity, but gravity is the force that stems from an object, wereas lateral and upward G's are forces of inertia, are they not? Tristan, care to shed some light? You seem to be the most technically inclined of us :P
It's just convenience. G is pretty much constant at 9.81 on Earth, and is used as a multiple. So a fighter plane pulling an angular acceleration of 19.62m/s/s is said to be pulling 2g, that's all.

I like to think of gravity as an acceleration, and thus if you divide any acceleration, linear or circular, by the constant of 9.81 it makes comparisons easy.
