Hello! I currently play LFS on my old laptop with Ubuntu 20.04 installed on it. My graphics card is nvidia gt520m, which is worse in terms of performance than yours. Driver version is 390.132. I set all game graphics settings to low or off if possible. Also, I use 720p screen resolution. In races with small player count i get 50-70 fps. If there are many cars on screen fps can drop to 20. Try to go to nvidia x server settings > x screen 0 > opengl settings > image settings and set it to high perfomance. Hope this helps.
