3rd round marks the middle of the 5 round series and is the 2nd non-standard track,but the difference from standard Rockingham Historic is not big - original configuration in 1st sector features 2 dangerous chicanes,which both have been modified in VERL version. 1st chicane has been bypassed over oval just like in many other Rockingham configurations,2nd chicane has made into 2 90° corners in left to right sequence,slowing the track section down massively,creating an optional overtaking chance. Rest of the track features well known infield section with various challenging turns,where the exit of last hairpin has been slightly widened.

One driver has won both previous rounds - winning this one practically swing the title in his direction where only huge failure will make the championship up for grabs for others. But let's not say "voilà" before trick is complete - this monday will feature 200 kilometers around a challenging track,where even most skilled drivers might run out of skill and lose valuable points. Anyone can still join the action,even if season newcomer's chances for title are rather slim if there at all,it's still possible race for honor,pick up a win or two and challenge for a high season final standings position.

Due low amount of races in Rockingham before,this might be the most unknown racetrack of the schedule and that caused drivers to try very different approaches when selecting car setups - that was best seen on achieved top speed chart where there was a difference of over 25km/h between fastest and slowest. Series leader held the provisional pole position until the very end of qualifying,where he was passed - Gábor suffered some connection issues and never took the position on grid.

Fatass got promoted to front row and used the chances given to him to advance to race lead already in 1st lap - he never gave the lead up and constantly pulled away from competition to lap everyone but 2nd place. Fatass became the 16th driver to win a VERL race. Unite scored both round bonus points as he set fastest lap in both sessions,but could not really challenge for race win and finished more than half minute behind winner,which is still best position of the season. Rony had few more position changes during the race,still was able to use situations to score podium finish for the 2nd time this season.


With standings leader not racing in round 3,standings had some changes at the top - Unite overtook Gábor for lead and is now 4 points ahead,Rony is still 3rd with 6 points gap to lead. Also rookie standings leader Zesty did not attend and there is lead change also in this chart - Kid now leads rookie of the year standings while being 5th overall. Thehemuli is 2 points off current top rookie.

Despite scoring "just" 19 points,S1dus still managed to increase their lead in teams standings and is now 40 points ahead of RGA with 39 points possible in each of two rounds ahead,Fragmaster passed MRc for 3rd position in table and closed gap to 2nd place too. Finland scored full 39 points in 3rd round and their 6th nations title is just around the corner - their current lead is 52 points over Hungrary,meaning they have to score 27 points during next 2 rounds to secure title without caring about rivals success. Latvia is still 3rd,just 3 points behind Hungary.

VERL will return to Westhill for 2021 season's 4th round - Westhill is one of 2 environments hosting a VERL round in each season so far,while 1st season featured even 2 rounds here. 2nd of the 2 rounds at Westhill of the inaugural season was held in National reversed configuration - the same configuration will be run also in the upcoming round.
