That is actually impossible to remove.
Why?

Its as impossible to remove as the BL chicane IMO.

Nothing is impossible to change or remove. Sure, it would require remoddeling, but so would removing the BL chicane.

Just drive Blackwood Reversed and appreciate the chicane from a new perspective.
if the chicane is removed it should be a historic track. otherwise i don't want any changes.

Quote from Yaamboo :-1 too. But it would work with a historic-mod as the chicane part is clearly newer than the rest of the track.

The chicane used to conform to the landscape and surround some trees, it wasn't really "added" as such, as far as I can remember.
But we are able to remove object from the track with autocross editor, right?

When if we remove barriers from bl chicane it doesn't became a long tarmac straight?

taking away the chicane makes it really boring tbh, adding an uphill on sounds great!

Not them barriers

I would like to see a return to this then, it looks rather boring in its current form with the mass of tarmac tbh.

But with trees and barriers where they were it would have been changed IRL for safety reasons. The current layout is much more realistic. I can't understand why someone would want the chicane to be gone. Blackwood is a great track in both directions and the chicane is responsible in part for that.

I'm not bothered about safety regulations, LFS is a sim let's have some exciting tracks

There are plenty of tracks IRL that have barriers and trees very close to the circuit, take a look at Cadwell Park for example. I personally would rather see club type circuits with short run off areas and lots of scenery than modern F1 style tracks with massive paved run off areas. When I first tried to lap Bahrain on N2003 I actually managed to get genuinley lost in the sea of tarmac run off area.

It's a sim, let's have realistic track layouts. If you look at the old Blackwood layout you should be able to see what I'm talking about. IRL it would have been a death trap, in the sim it was unrealistic, though pretty. If you want exciting tracks, removing the twisty bits won't help.
^^ I can't find a screens of the old barriers but at that speed a corner I really can't see how you'd end up with a death trap.

A couple of real life examples of barriers close to tracks.

1. Cadwell Park only had proper barriers all the way round the track for the first time this year - admittably it did have a double fatality a couple of years ago but that was a freak accident involving two Cobra replicas down the pit straight which could of happened anywhere.

Mallory Park - has a very fast (normally flat or almost flat) off camber downhill left hander called Devil's Elbow, actually claims very few cars although there is the potential for a big off, now has a short gravel trap and tire wall although in the past it used to just be a barrier right up to the edge of the circuit and the fastest Sierra Cosworths would reguarly aim to clip the barrier to use the full track.

I tried the old S1 blackwood once... And I was like: aww, what the hell happend to this track, it looked so nice then... I don't want to remove the chicane, but more trees would look nice there, actually anywhere more trees would look nice, I miss a forest feel at blackwood... Is there any track that has this feel? My favourite RL track is Zolder, and half of the track is actually not reachable (or barely) because it's all into a close forest...
^^ Agreed I've always felt LFS could do with a forest track, which is what part of what makes Cadwell such a special place

this man speaks the truth the straight isnt that long that it needs something to split it up either.

i kind of like the non-flexibility of blackwood, makes it feel like a proper circuit that exists.
I'm hopeless at Blackwood no matter what you do to the chicane i'll still be 3 seconds off the pace there.
I don't think he meant removing the chicane entirely, just having a layout where the red barriers weren't there. BL Historic if you will. I imagine it being something like the long right hander at the bottom of the hill in AS Historic, vs. the left right complex of AS GP. I don't know for sure, but I think those barriers would be pretty easy to remove, you can even drive on the track between them.

I'm +1 for this idea, if for nothing else than it would be a bit of a change.
Yeah, just an option to remove the barriers
Quote from hrtburnout :Yeah, just an option to remove the barriers

yesterday i saw in a race theres no need for - just go exactly in between the barriers and you just go through without any harm at all.

>>>bug thread - i know.
It wouldn't be Blackwood without the chicane, the chicane MAKES Blackwood.
I also like Blackwood because of its lack of multiple setups. Like Westhill, it is a track on its own and not just a spaghetti multiple configuration track.

If you overshot the chicane or braking point you usually ploughed into a barricaded group of trees. Most race tracks alow run-off areas at the end of fast straights. Until you drive the circuit in the reversed direction you may miss this point.
