In this RTFR race we used one of the new candidates for the LFS GTR class - the 70HP more powerful LSV 12. This was also the 1st ever RTFR race with a car having an engine with more than 8 cylinders as the LSV has 12 of them. With little setting up few drivers using the extra power could beat the FZR's world record in this track - 7 did it in qualifying,6 - in race. Also this race registered the 4th repeat of highest ever race leaders count - 4 (last previous time with 4 leaders was in 205th RTFR,just over 3 years ago),ironically the polesitter was not between them.
The 3-time racewinner Altsu scored his 7th pole position in his return after longer break,but lost lead before entering 1st turn and further mishaps put him down the order,later recovering himself up to 7th position in finish. Unite took over race lead in lap 10 and kept it until finish line to become 8th driver with 10 or more race wins,scoring his 22nd fastest lap of the race on the way,it was also his 59th top5 finish,breaking his tie for 3rd most of these. Ohnifus led 3 laps before being passed by race winner,but kept at least 2nd place in results,which is 2 positions better than his only other top5 finish,also his 5th place in qualifying was improvement over previous best,but just by a single position. Current 10 race rating leader Fatal also led a lap in this race,but finished in 3rd position,scoring his 13h top5 finish,Goszki broke into top5 for the first time in this event series,previous only other finish was 8th position. Doni closed the top5 and scored his 12th top5 finish.
Next week we'll return to LFS standard GTR cars - in the next RTFR XL is the FZR on the line to be raced in the other standard Kyoto road course config Kyoto GP Long,using the Boothy chicane adjustment on the fast chicane leading off the oval part. Full info will be posted and server will be set up tomorrow. But in 2 weeks in next normal RTFR it will be one of the street legal cars on the line again. With this the activity from RGE does not end this week,but the next event won't be using a 4-wheeled vehicle like all our previous events before - this sunday we will host our first ever motorcycle event,which will be run in time trial format.
