Race About at Aston Club Reverse was a great car and track combination that proved to be extremely tricky. Through-out practice it was obvious some people had a handle on the beast, which could be under-steering in one moment and over-steering the next. It was shocking that I, (Tim Beaudet), would be eliminated after qualifying not even making the event, by only a tenth of a second. From that point on it was an intense event with some finishes closer than the precise timers used to track the cars.
In the second round, the to be winner Rudy van Buren made a Pass to Win over Alex Gassman by only 0.03 seconds, and would be setup to race Nolan Scott in the semi-finals. Taha El Alaoui and Patrik Seidler battled it out in the second round with one of their races ending within a tenth of a second from each other, allowing Taha to move on to the semi-finals against Niall McEvoy who was able to defeat Andris Pavars who had been suffering from some serious lag.
Niall McEvoy from My3id makes a Pass to Win over Sonicrealms Racing's Taha El Alaoui, making it look easy as he passes through into the finals. The amazing presentation from Event 1, CoRe Racings Nolan Scott vs F1RST's Rudy van Buren met up a little sooner than expected, which would make the overall championship a lot closer, or more spread out depending who moved on to the finals. Rudy van Buren ended up taking the victory in the first match leaving Nolan to make up 0.37 seconds. Nolan came back in the second race, and got passed, but didn't stop fighting. The race ended in a tie with Rudy van Buren moving to the finals against Niall McEvoy.
In the finals Rudy proved himself worthy as he took on Niall. Niall tried and never gave up but Rudy made the best lap of the event and made himself shine as he took the win at Event 2 of the Head-to-Head: Winter Series '09.
