It was this Saturday evening, at Kyoto. The LFS Endurance series has officially made its return in the LFS Racing environment. After a last dance in 2011, the french endurance series marked its come back Saturday with a unofficial race called Round 0 or Shakedown. That small hour race had for main aim to test new procedures, and to get drivers to get used to it again. 18 cars had answered the calls : 3 LMP2 and 15 GT3.
In LMP2 with the Prototype 2, the low presence gave us a kinda quiet race. Dod1slaw won it all alone. He's also the only LMP2 to see the checkered flag. Indeed, System was about to reach it in the same lap as the leader, but his internet decided it another way, and he timed out when entering his last lap. Thankfully, he's still classified 2nd with one lap late on the winner. A lot less successfull evening for Maty, who fighted for a little moment with System for the second place in the race beginning. Sadly, some events forced him to pit after 5 laps, and then to retire after 11 laps.
In GT3, there was evidently more action, and we had the honnor to see 4 different mods in the 4 firsts places : Kyr1l has won the race in GT3 with the Mutsand GT3, in front of S.Martin with the 4M GT3. For a moment in second place, Cyk and his Protech GT3 are getting the last step on the podium, after loosing the second place under VSC, who profited to S.Martin. It's Nex who's placing the 4th different mod in the top 4 and in the same lap as the leader. The Belgian driver drove his Fera GT3 to a crazy "remontada", after having to start from last position from the pitlane, due to graphical issues on the grid.
A big thanks for everyone involved to make the LFSES living again, as for the drivers and the staff, but also New Dimension Racing and Jonathan Palmer being very active and helpful on the stewards room. Now that this round was only a appetizer, the LFSES are getting into the serious things with the first round for the 26th October, with the Westhill TownEast custom layout.
