LFS France's Ligue FR - French League

FSR-System back on the top step!

This monday 21st, at the evening was held the 9th round of the French League. It was another S2 classic combo, as the FXR was waiting for the racers at Fern Bay, using the Gold route. It's KingOfIce who signed the pole position, snatching the fastest time from MRc's JSK right on the last moments of the qualification. With the Slovakian set to start 2nd, it's been System who got the 3rd place in front of L.Rydh. DLV and Proxima completed the top 6, to make it varied by having 6 differents team on the 6 top spots : GUM, MRc, FSR, W/, AR and NFR! Pigeon, Donald, Yorry and Aposki completed the top 10 out of 19 qualified drivers. Infortunately, 2 drivers couldn't make it tonight : GUM's Daf who was held by the work, and FSR's Kriss who suffered heavy lag during the end of the pre-qualification and decided to stay safely off the track.

At the start, everything went kinda smooth and calm for the first two dreaded turns reputed for their first laps dramas, except some bumper gently touching. But then at the end of the first lap, DLV took a opportunity to climb 3rd, by passing his former FSR team mate, System, who seemed in difficulty with his car, as L.Rydh also passed him a few seconds later. As soon as we got into the second lap, JSK took benefit of his softer tires and a small mistake of KingOfIce entering the famous Fern Bay train bridge to then get his hands on the lead of the race a couple of seconds later. A cartoon style chase ensued between these 2 as KingOfIce was very close of JSK, but the new race leader was defending his precious place safe and clean. 2 laps later, the first drama happened, as L.Rydh went wide at the ninth corner, and missed to hit the pair DLV-System who was behind him, when his car ended up it's offroad venture coming back to track 90° off the trajectory. This mistake infortunately costed him a good couple of positions as the Swede dropped to 10th. 4 more laps later, as the leading chase was continuing, it was DLV's turn to make a mistake by going too wide on the first turn, giving opportunist System a way back to his 3rd place. We then had the feeling System wanted to join the fight for the win, making it a 3 drivers battle. But 2 laps later, as System was closing the gap to the race lead fight, KingOfIce who was pressuring JSK more and more, tried to make a exterior braking attack. But it didn't go as planned, and we could felt it like a remake of the "see you again" Fast and Furious' scene with King continuing straight on the bridge and JSK entering the corner... That action promoted System, who was offered a position on a red carpet for the 3rd consecutive time of this race, to the second place. But then the FSR Team's boss was definitely hungrier as he joined the back bumper of JSK as soon as he got the second place, and a couple of corners later, as the pair entered the 14th lap, System placed his car on the exterior of the turn 1, as JSK was defending the inside of the corner on the braking point. But the Slovakian had his front R3 boiling, and couldn't really defend himself while System with his front R4 at a perfect temperature made the move of the race passing JSK at the exterior for the lead. But then the MRc driver had also to face the return of the championship leader a couple of laps later, because indeed KingOfIce rolled up his sleeves and set his hotlap mood back on, and finally passed his race rival on the end of the 16th lap, there was nothing JSK could do with his cooked R3 tires. And then, despite a little hot moment with a lapped car, System finally went back to the winning circle, almost 2 years (in 10 days it would have been 2 years, days for days) after his last win at Rockingham with the FOX, and a winless season in 2023. KingOfIce still made a good championship move and continues his impressive 2024's Top 2 streak by scoring a new 2nd place, meanwhile JSK had to save his podium from DLV who had a great pace at the end of the race, clinching the fastest lap of the race. 5 drivers from 5 different team has make it to the top 5, as the very regular Belgian driver, NFR's Proxima, finished just behind DLV. Donald, Aposki and Pigeon were then following, as L.Rydh would then score P9, but as we can say : a race is never ended until you definitely crossed the line. And this his how L.Rydh offered FSR's Yorry a 9th place, after a spectacular crash at the unforgivable last corner. Fortunately the Swede succeeded to save the P10 with a broken car.

After that actions packed round, the next French League meeting will be held the November 18th, with Flame's mod, the Radix, at Rockingham. But the French community invites you this Saturday at Westhill for the first round of it's returning endurance series LFSES, at the FSR Team's custom track for a 4h race.
