After a rough and tumble formation lap, the 6 Hours of South City Long turned into a very good race, with a battle of strategies playing out for the GT1/overall win. Early in the race, Mercury Racing Team's GT1 dominated the proceedings. However, a crucial decision to forego repairing damage at a mid-race pitstop meant that they gradually lost pace to their competitors.
Meanwhile, the newly strengthened SK Gaming team employed a strategy that allowed them to make one pitstop fewer than the competition, saving them nearly a minute over the course of the race. Combined with smooth driving and a largely damage-free six hours, this gave SK a comfortable 1-lap win over the field in their first race back in MoE. spdoRacing's GT1 car continued a strong early season by taking second place ahead of Round 1 winners F1RST Racing GT1. Despite their early strength, Mercury would only manage fourth, while #low-racing rounded out the top-five.
In GT2, F1RST Racing GT2 continued a dominant early season, winning with a lap advantage over the surprising Infinity Skills GT2 squad and taking a measure of consolation for their Kyoto loss. Sonicrealms Racing took their first MoE podium with third place, leading three teams that finished four laps behind. Conquest Racing, abandoning the XRR for the FZR, took fourth, followed by a strong performance by the FXR of the Greek Virtual Racing Team. Round 1 winners spdoRacing GT2 suffered a huge setback as a time-out by their driver C. Hofbauer turned into a several-laps penalty when there was no driver at the ready to relieve him. This miscommunication sent them tumbling down the order from a top-three position to their final spot of eighth.
