It was recently discovered that a prominent Masters of Endurance driver, Sasa Pasic of the Mercury Racing Team, has been using an exploit that allows him a substantial advantage over the competition in terms of straightline speed. The matter was brought to our attention by several other concerned teams, who had done independent research to confirm that something was amiss. When they uncovered the matter, Mercury Racing Team also came forward to ask for a penalty to be levied against themselves for their driver's transgression.
As a result of this incident, the Masters of Endurance admins have decided to discount all laps run by Sasa in the race in which he used the exploit, the 12 Hours of Kyoto Grand Prix Long. This will drop Mercury Racing Team GT1's car from 5th in that race to 17th, and will consequently drop them from 5th in points to a tie for 7th. The evidence we have gathered indicates that Sasa did not employ the exploit during his drive in the 6 Hours of South City Long. However, as a further consequence of his actions, which represent a clear and willful breach of the league's spirit of competition, Sasa has been banned from the remainder of the 2008-2009 Masters of Endurance season. His possible participation in future seasons will be examined at the appropriate time.
The Masters of Endurance admin team would like to thank the teams who did the original research to uncover the exploit. We would also like to thank Mercury Racing Team for coming forward when the truth of the matter became apparent. Finally we would like to emphasize that we do not condone further attacks, smears, or harassment of Sasa. When confronted with the accusation, he admitted his guilt, and he has been punished for it.
In the future, any such attempt to go outside the bounds of what is possible in an unaltered version of LFS, whether by means of macros, external programs, or memory address tampering, will result in an automatic ban if uncovered.
Thanks for your understanding,
Masters of Endurance Admin Team
