Tough race was Aston North in that FO8 GP, with only a few incidents showing up. Before that, confusion appeared in the second part of the qualification, in which Manu and Mullog were going to be sanctionned for overtaking in the pitlane. Alex was going with them as a sanctionned driver for going on track carelessly in Q1. Race coming, semaphore forecast.
After coming back on Dani taking advantage of R2 at the start, Alvariño and Chema took him in sandwich, both of them coming out of this weakened with the battle. This time the mistake was for Crouls, who after a "trick shot" had to give up due to a somersault. Race was continuing and Culji was escaping. Sturm wanted to hinder him, but failed in the corkscrew going off track and rejoigning 15th. Many drivers came back in pits in the second lap to get rid of their R2, which was going to remove pressure from Culji, if he already felt it once in the race... Mullog was one who felt it, and this race wasn't going to be his one. Running from the start with a damaged car, it was impossible for him to stay on track. He tried to keep up and fight for points, but decided to give up on lap 33. First time the alien come back by foot. Culji, Manu, Sturm and Ray were leading the race. Impressive come back from Manu and muchly from Sturm. Ray was trying to make profitable his first stints taking advantage of the little traffic on track, and he was going to have a slightly quiet race. Raikko, with a damaged car, couldn't follow his mates' pace, but limited damages bringing his car back to the finish line. The CN were quite silent navigating 9 places behind the leaders. We are not quite used to see those 2 cracks in the middle of the pack. The lack of training certainly didn't allowed them to do better. The RV were maintaining in that line : Ray standing out, Vipper and Dammi suffering until the end although not throwing in the towel. A pain for Dems, who was not able to complete his race. The ART GP team equaled the RV, going safely to the finish. The race was going to end, and the VAD Racers were closing the classification of drivers still on track. Last laps, when Manu had to pit after literally eating a tyre which was staying on track due to a run off from Ars. Ray pitted a second time. Thus Chema was running second and Dani third, but Sturm was longing for a podium after mounting his R2. Begun a thrilling finish in lap 47, where Sturm, Dani and Toni, who joined the party, touched each other to drifts... But the worst had yet to happen. Culji was the psychological winner of the race, but his victory was just going to be in everybody's mind. He could not climb the podium due to his calculation mistake as he only pitted once... Although he confessed he was diverted during the race but was happy for Chema, who stood on the highest place of the podium, but not being able to be happy with it... Sturm eventually finish second and Dani completes the top 3.
Conclusions : There always is a blue and white car on the podium, it is always possible to come back during the race (Manu and Sturm), the big guys can fall too (Mullog), constancy pays off (VAD, ART and RV), CN still chase leadership, Spykers notably scored in one race.
