Kyoto 225 Taken by Isaac Price while Elton Chong and Tiger Express take Championships

Kyoto 225 Race Recap
Elton Chong proved his dominance so well that he didn't even need to attend the final race of the World TBO Championship Series, so he just didn't. This left the field wondering who would step up and prove their abilities on the quick Kyoto National circuit, and even before the race started a driver had stepped into those shoes, and it was Isaac Price of the LowLandLions in his number 97 XRT.

Isaac had laid down the quickest lap time with a 1:59.51 in the pre-race qualifying session, and had beat the second best time which was set down by Morgan Trolle's #12 spdoRacing XRT by 11 hundredths of a second and Isaac's team mate Mikko Meriluoto by 16. This would set the tone for Isaac's entire race.

The green flag dropped shortly after 16:00 GMT on Sunday, and immediately Isaac Price jumped to the lead and he would never look back as he cruised to victory on the 3.2 mile track by 23 seconds over second place Andris Pavars in the Tiger Express Motorsports #16 XRT and 35 seconds over third place Maris Znotins in his #99 STO Racing Team FXO.

Championships were awarded to Elton Chong (of the Legendary Alien Group) and Tiger Express Motorsports (which was lead by Andris Pavars's second place driver championship run) as well as Latvia who's overwhelming amount of entries proved too much for the rest of their competition.

Driver Championship

Elton Chong's 125 points was easily enough to clinch the championship after his closest competitor, Nikifor Dakovic, was absent for round number 5, a round in which Chong drove to victory for the second straight week and the third time in the championship. Andris Pavars squeaked into a second place finish in the Driver's Championship with 83 points after he strongly asserted himself in the Kyoto 225 with the same finish. Nikifor Dakovic of My3id Gaming, who was represented by Joe Holmes in the final round and missed the fifth round, held on for a third place tie in the final standings with Ronald Kampars of TheReality Racing Team. Both drivers had accumulated 80 points over the course of the season. Maris Znotins finished the season in the fifth place for the STO Racing Team with 65 points. Arturs Jonaitis of Sonicrealms Racing finished sixth place in the World TBO Championship Series, and Matiss Linde, also of STO Racing Team, finished in seventh place. The winner of the final round, Isaac Price finished in eighth place, Ronalds Kronpuss finished the year out in ninth place in the standings and rounding out the top 10 was Morgan Trolle of the spdoRacing team.

Team Championship

The Team Championship was the only championship that was up for grabs heading into the final round. Team LAG went into the final round powered by Elton Chong's three wins with the championship in hand with 127 points, but the lack of a team member in the series's final race left their points totals static. This allowed Tiger Express Motorsports to blast through with the championship and a final of 132 points. LAG was left in a tie for second place at 127 points with TheReality Racing Team. STO Racing Team finished in fourth place with 113 points and My3id Gaming completed their season in the fifth place with 102 points.

Nation Championship

The Nation Championship was dominated by Latvia who had an oppressive 218 points by season's end. Hong Kong, charged by Elton Chong, has 125 points and finished second. The Czech Republic finished third with 84 points, and Bosnia trailed closely behind in fourth place with 80 points. Finland completed the top 5 with their 67 point total.

2012 Season
Season number 2 will begin starting next Fall. Information will be posted on the Realistic NASCAR sub forum of the LFS Forums Events Section as soon as it is decided upon. Thanks to everybody who raced or contributed to this great season in any way, and we'd love to see you come back out and race with us next season if not in one of our other upcoming series. It's been a pleasure to hold these events, and I promise that next year will be even better than this one.

Special Thanks
Special thanks goes out to New Dimensions Racing for the server which the final half of the season was ran on. Master Race car [MRc] for the server for the first part of the season. Kid222 for driving the pace car and assisting with administration. Speedy J for always having my back and my sides in race administration (I was too hard headed to allow him to protect me in front though he did try). CSF for helping with the Westhill GP administration and giving the entire administration team a good laugh during that event. Dekojester for the great over sight to the events that he was able to make. SpdoRacing for the Database which greatly improved the speed with which I could get out the race results. To LFS for the great racing simulator in which we competed on, and to all of the competitors who put their time and effort into competition. This never would have happened without all of your help. Thanks for everything.
