New Dimension Racing returns with seasonal events. Those have mostly been simple styled 2 hour races, but this year it changes. We present you the Kyoto 150, the third major New Dimension Racing oval race of the season. The concept of this special event was designed by LowLandLions driver Phil Diaz, starting with a seven day long open qualifying session. All entered drivers can join the server and set their fastest time with drafting and bump drafting being allowed. After qualifying, lasting from Saturday, December 4th until Friday, December 9th, Saturday 10th will feature three heat races and one Last-Chance Qualifier, which will decide over the starting order. These heat races will be 15 laps each, the Last-Chance-Qualifier 10 laps long. In the event of a full-course-caution/Safety Car deployment, the laps will be added, sothat we will have 15, respectively 10 green flag laps. On Sunday, December 10th, the big finale of this event, the Kyoto 150 will take place. 81 laps in the oval with up to 3 green-white-checkered attemps to end the race under green flag conditions. The race will be started in the biggest formation possible. The four-wide start will definately be the most spectacular thing seen in a Live for Speed oval, since the Kyoto 500.
The information listed up for better notice:
Prequalifying will run from Sunday, December 4, 2011 until Friday, December 9, 2011 - Open server, drafting / bumpdrafting allowed
Heat Races will run on Saturday, December 10th - 3 heats + Last-Chance Qualifier (LCQ); Heats set by Pre-qual, Snake splits.; Each heat is 15 laps, LCQ is 10 laps; Caution laps do not count.
The Race will be on Sunday, December 11th - 81 laps; 3 attempts at a GWC; Caution laps do count.; 4-wide race start
To make all this, especially the start, work, the chosen car is the XR GT (XRG). Due to it's "lack" of power, compared to its bigger brother, the XR GT Turbo, racing is designed to become the restrictor-plate racing of Live for Speed, as noone can pull away out of his own power. We hope to be able to recreate the drama of the big NASCAR races at Daytona or Talladaga with this very car/track combination. The 1.852 mi oval of Kyoto hosts the sixth and final New Dimension Racing oval event of 2011, three of them as part of the LFSCART Series 2011. Who becomes the sixth man or the first woman to get himself into the Victory Lane? Who follows Phil Diaz (PMD9409), Sebastian Hutchinson (Seb66), Robbin Heijerman (drifters only) or Simon Cattell (SCA-F1)?
You can still sign up for the "real unique" event. Go to https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dDNQVzlHQzNYaTFIZGRvaERZNXNZVHc6MQ and fill in the requiered information to participate. No entry requirements set, but we reserve the right to refuse your entry at any time for any reason.
