December 14, 2011 by Cameron Corns
The Oval 50 was announced late this morning by Realistic NASCAR’s Cameron Corns. This will be the organization’s first event sanctioned under their new licensing system, and this will also be their first oval event since the introduction of the use of Team Speak to moderate their racing events. The event will take place on December 28, 2011 at 18:30 GMT and will be open to all Realistic NASCAR License Holders.
This event has also been announced to be an event in which higher licenses may be awarded to respectful drivers. These licenses would allow participation in larger Realistic NASCAR Series in the future including, but not limited to, the 2012 World TBO Championship Series and the Realistic NASCAR 500.
Organization and event director Cameron Corns stated his excitement Tuesday. “You know, there are a lot of things changing within and around Realistic NASCAR, and we decided that it was time for us to try and tackle another oval event. In the past these oval events hadn’t went as well as what we had anticipated, but with the replacement of in game text messages with Team Speak voice chat, and the added experience of our [administration] team we believe that the time is now that we will be able to run an event on KY1 smoothly.”
He also briefly stated his feelings on the new license system’s effect on this newly announced event. “Our new license system will give us better control over which competitors are able to participate, and for this event we will be holding signups rather than having the ‘free-to-join’ mentality that usually ruins an event’s quality. We will ensure that drivers are able to follow directions prior to participation as well by requiring that they sign up for a Realistic NASCAR License in addition to the event. This should greatly improve the quality of all of our events, and we will likely see this illustrated on the twenty-eighth too.”
