Round 2 of All-wheel-drive Winter Series was held in fast and winding track of Kyoto Ring GP Long Reversed using the second car of series - RB4 GT. This round was slightly more attended with 16 drivers taking part in qualification, allthough only 15 of them started the race as 3rd place finisher of round 1 - Fuller - left the server before start. Second pole position in row was taken by Reno with an impressive laptime of 2:50.55 which is just 0.67 off the official world record in this 7.4 kilometers long track.
Even if this track/car combination offers more grip and more space on track, round 2 start was also quite contact full - one of those led the championship leaded to leave racing surface on two wheels for a while, but he managed to recover and rejoined the field at it's tale.
This 100 kilometers long race had a lot of pressure on tyres,as this 1.2 tons heavy all-wheel-drive car is quite famous for it's tyre problems in longer races, this gave the drivers the choice - either you drive quick, overheat tyres and loose tempo later or keep you head cool, keep steady rhythm and have consistent pace for whole race. STO's Kars seemed like to made his choice for 1st option,as he managed to slip very quickly into lead and gain some distance on opponents - even up to 4 seconds, but the growing tyre temperature made him to slow down, allowing both spdo drivers to catch him. In lap 7 in the long right handed turn,Kars made his lead-loosing mistage by going wide, the serbian Fade used this to grab lead and run away with it. Few turns later Reno followed his teammates example and also overtook Kars.
Just like in round one, also here the top 3 didn't shuffle positions on second half of the race, meaning both spdo drivers finished the race ahead of others - Fade celebrated victory taking 15 points in championship standings,Reno had to settle for runner up position even after he proved he is faster by setting the fastest laptime in lap 12 and just to make sure,he repeated same time in the very next lap. Reno took both bonuspoints for the 2nd round in row, also taking 15 points from this race. With this spdo scored the maximum possible points for a team in 1 round - 30,by that spdo are extending their lead in Teams to 24 points over series hosters - TheReality Racing Team. But in Nations Cup situation is still very interesting - both Estonia and Latvia taking 20 points in this round and Finland - 16,all three nations are seperated by just 5 points making this winter league led by north european countries.
