... and its finale lived up to its expectations. For the last meeting of the season, the competitors visited Westhill to beat the NGTs around the reversed configuration - or better not beating it around that track due to the very own problems of this car class, the tyre wear. The provided black gold by Live for Speed is either to weak to withstand the forces these dwarfs produce or tend to fall victim to the boredom and freeze over.
These facts were irrelevant for the 15 minute qualifying session, not only because of the relative shortness, but also because of the windy conditions the drivers had to come to terms with. The 42-lap race gave enough time to the find a solution for the wind issue, but the question of if and how the tyres would survive the tortoure could only be answered by the chequered flag as the mid and high speed bends were as aggessive as the two chicanes or the 180° turn from start/finish. So, once again, the one or the other challenge the drivers had to master. Unsurprisingly those at the top of the order tend to have less problems with these challenges, however they also had the additional challenge of deciding the championship into the one or the other direction.
The qualifying for Grid 1 saw メ C. Winkler leaving his beloved XFR in the pits and instead achieving P5 infront of HoR hanfer using the UFR. Row 2 was a Concept Racing affair with メ C. Winkler's rival for the championship CR|Troy and teammate Eisbaer, whose help was badly needed. A blink of an eye faster on their fastest laps, RAPTOR Paddi and HoR Schuhti created themselves an optimal starting position.
The start didn't change the order in the front field. Behind the front runners, however, big amounts of paint were shared which lead into HoR Totti restarting the race from pitlane and SRTA Mensafest serving a long pit stop on lap 1 already. Later HoR hanfer missed the chicane mid-way through the lap. When CR|Eisbaer overbreaked his car aproaching Turn 1, !ce.splattael suddenly appeared as fifth in the scoring and became -sorry- best of the rest. Behind him the メcite drivers C.Barnick, Mave and K. Egloff frequently swaped positions before hanfer caught them. Profiting from RAPTOR Intre and TEM/ A.Pavars non-appearance, hanfer secured the fifth spot in the championship order even without overtaking the メcite crew.
The leading quartet decayed meanwhile: Paddi took first place from Schuhti but was not able to get away from him and troy finally managed to beat C. Winkler but the neither managed to work out a gap. However his little hopes for the overall championship burst on lap 41, together with his left front tyre. C. Winkler just had to complete one more lap and finish to become CityLiga 14 champion. Because he -of course- made it: Congratulations!
Even with their lovely battle for the win, the leading two were unable to change that. After Schuhti got back into the lead, he defended it and at least finished the season with a success although he was denied an overall podium spot, where Paddi took troy's runner-up position.
With Joker's ninth and jueweb's thirteenth finishing position, Heroes of Racing succeded in the team's championship, beating メcite Racing and Spirit Racing Team.

Twelve cars, six UFR and six XFR, left the pit road for the qualifying session of Grid 2, still enough cars to not have a unifed final race. Of course we should not point at anyone.
Well maybe at GRT climbs who secured pole position by a large margin over BC K.Adam, •FFR•D3vil and C. Radtke.
With the start of the race it looked like the two of row one would leap away, with already a one second gap at sector 1. But the next chicane should end their travel: maybe surprised by Climb's massive miss of the line at the exit, Adam missed the apex and drove straight into the tyre barrier? Or maybe the other way round? Maybe those two incidents were totally independent? The only diagnosis to be derived from this: •FFR•D3vil collected some bonus miles in the lead before he provided eXR mathi24 a slipstream and lost the lead. After the succesful move his rhythm got better and better and better and he achieved an unchallenged Grid 2 win.
Eventually this was supported by HoR spooky, -[BC]- HaiTauR, SRT-Pan and Bips who suddenly began to take a look to the podium positions. While the latter lost the pace and the position to fight with, the first mentioned destroyed his UFR in the well known tyre wall and ultimately had to pit. But HaiTauR and Pan were not awarded the honor of a podium spot, as the unlucky ones from lap one recovered themselves and framed the third placed D3vil. K.Adam thereby became the top driver from Grid 2, stealing the top spot from spooky, who finished tenth in the sandwich of FRT Temporato and Mario.
Back to the bad start: After C. Radtke had processed it and had digged himself out, he was strong enough to finish seventh, while the race of FRT Mighty Pharao was ended early on lap 5 by a disconnect.

A worthy final, which saw a premiere in CL history by being covered by two livestreams, for a successful season. CityLiga 14 was the shortest ever, but presented everything CityLiga stands for and the simracers desire, this time even more intense due to the compromised form: close racing, spectacular driving and overtaking manouvers, thrilling two and multi car battles and tension until the last drop of petrol is burnt.
Having said this, so long everyone and have a recreative break. See you next time...
PS: Also a big thank you to A.Pavars who provided great pictures to illustrate the articles: liels paldies!!!
