Xcite Cali is the Champion of CityLiga 14. After his victory, he answered to some questions about the season, his team and his Live for Speed career:
Congratulations to your championship, Cali! You competed in many seasons and you were always showing a good performance, still you have been seperated from a race win or the championship by atleast one step. What was different this season?
Thank you very much! That's true, I was on the edge, this time however I advanced in general and produced less mistakes. Moreover I changed some specific things. I trained differently, more precisely and I improved my setup creation skills. Having AndyK as some kind of race engineer. He supported me with the setups, motivated me and developed strategies.
Your team fit you with an own skin featuring congratulations, your team mates rooted for you with messages on their numberplates. It sounds like great team spirit in Xcite Racing.
Yes, we have got a phenomenal team spirit. I've been in Xcite since my demo times in October 2007 and always wanted to win something big for my team. The first race win was the original goal for this season, but half-way through the season we started to think differently and wanted to win the championship. Especially Andy helped a lot.
Was your victory as primal Xcite driver different to the championship of Maddin?
No, not really. It was more suddan and maybe because of that more emotional. It is important and nice for us, that Xcite does not only have one winning driver but several now.
Can we watch you defending your title next season?
I definately hope so. I want to defend it badly, but will I be able to do so? I'm going to try it, but the density is very high and it was already narrow this season.
How did your LFS career start and how are your motorsport efforts outside of Live for Speed?
I found LFS by pure accident. I was playing motorsport games earlier, usual titles like Need for Speed or Gran Tourismo. My first connection to LFS happend through my step father. He was at one of his costumers and maintained his computer. He saw the LFS icon on the desktop. He told me, because he knew I like those games and I got stuck.
Outside of the sim racing world, I am an active go-kart driver. I don't own a race kart, so I just drive ranted karts but at real races. Solo races, team races, endurance, I compete in everything what is offered. I might not be one of the best drivers in Germany, contrary to Intre for example, but I'm pretty fast and competitive.
The final words belong to you.
Ok, if that is the case, I want to thank Andy one more time. Without him, I wouldn't have become the champion.
