Realistic NASCAR Gears Up for The Kyoto 400
-January 28th, 2012 by Cameron Corns
Preparations for the Inaugural Kyoto 400 are well underway for Realistic NASCAR. The new and more in depth Realistic NASCAR Rulebook has been completed and gives competitors a visual explanation of some of the rules that might be confusing to some competitors while also improving greatly on the quality of the text which will allow Realistic NASCAR to operate in a way which it never has before. Teamspeak allows Realistic NASCAR Officials to speak directly to the competitors now throughout the course of an event so that competitors don't have to take their time to look away from where they are driving.
Cars have been on track attempting to receive the licenses required to compete in this event for some time now and through these sessions not only is the field being weeded down to the most respectful and capable drivers, it's also providing the administration team some insight into how the race will transpire. Due to this, following the fifth practice session on Friday, Realistic NASCAR is announcing three quick changes:
-Altered Qualifying Day Schedule (qualifying allotment reduced by 20 min.)
-Moving of the “commitment cone” to the middle of turn 3 entry
-Application Deadline moved back to February 14th at 23:59 GMT
Qualifying was originally scheduled for an hour and twenty minutes, but following practice sessions it became apparent that that much time would not be required. This means that the duel qualifying races will be moved forward twenty minutes each on February 18th.
The moving of the “commitment cone” on pit entry was done in order to provide competitors an opportunity to remain in line through turn number three if a competitor in front of them is pitting. Hazard light remain required under green flag conditions when entering pit lane.
The use of the license system has proved to be quicker than anticipated, and this means that competitors now will have until February 14th in order to apply for competition in the Kyoto 400. The requirement deadline remains February 15th, and the Skin Approval Deadline remains a midnight the night before Qualifying Day.
The entry list for the Kyoto 400 contains a total of twenty-one drivers currently, and out of those nine are eligible to race currently. Three competitors are eligible once their skin is submitted and approved. Two competitors have the required number of laps, but have been unable to obtain the required license due to stability issues or lag.
This Saturday's IndyCar 250 will provide competitors a fun and competitive way to obtain the required Realistic NASCAR License for Kyoto 400 competition as well if competitors do wish to come to an official practice session in order to become a licensed driver.
Realistic NASCAR would like to invite everybody who is interested to come out and join them in their events. They are all free to join and license requirements simply state that a driver needs to be respectful to administration, respectful towards fellow competitors, have a decent understanding of the Realistic NASCAR Rulebook, and that each driver must prove themselves able to compete and maintain a proper line in a high downforce car on Kyoto Ring Oval.
