The 2012 Rallycross Shootout Series just finished up its third round of five on Sunday at Blackwood Rallycross Reversed. Competitors were asked to carry as much momentum as possible around the circuit in the 55 horsepower UF1. At the end of the day it was series new comer manne (emil141) of Rforce who took home the victory over fellow Fin, V.Pitkanen (Emyn), by 2.16 seconds in the 15 lap contest. New series points leader J.Dohnalik of SAVAGE SimSports finished out the podium. His teammate, M.Kapal, came home in fourth.
The former series points leader, N Falcon (FalconBridge) of the Dutch NASCAR Team came home a disappointing fifth place and surrendered his points lead after winning round number two of the series. He is still only four points behind Dohnalik, and would be guaranteed the points lead if he would be able to win the next round regardless of Dohnalik's result.
The series returns to action this Sunday at Fern Bay Rallycross (FE5) for 16 laps in the FXO. This 19 minute race guarantees to be a true endurance test for the right front tire. Competitors may run a few seconds quicker, and risk having to make a pit stop, or they can go a little less aggressively and avoid pit road. Will this tough tire situation strike down one of the championship competitors with just one more round left to go? Will this week render the series its fourth different winner in as many races?
Come out this Sunday (July 22nd) and next Sunday (July 29th) at 16:00 GMT on the Realistic NASCAR Server with the password 2012RSS and be sure to be a part of the action packed final two rounds!
