The GTi Trophy isn't far away from its first scheduled event and does so far already turn out to be a success! 57 sign-ups with still a couple of days to go before the deadline are a promising amount, and with now there being two grids, each being able to hold 32 drivers, the chance for more is still right there! With the increased amount of participants we hope to deliver a good and fair racing experience to a bigger audience and not only to drivers who challenge for world records in the hot lap charts.
All GTi events will consist of a 24 hour long pre-qualifying period to determine which drivers will be in which grid, followed by a 20 minute long qualifying session and a 40 minute long race including a mandatory pit stop. In the latter two sessions the both grids will compete completely separate from one another, meaning that there will be no pressure from other drivers who someone will not directly race against.
The calendar will visit each LFS enviroment once, with the opening round of the season taking place at the oldest track of them all: Blackwood GP. The remaining rounds will take place at Aston Cup reversed (A22R), South City Long (SO4), Fern Bay Classic (F25), Westhill International reversed (WE1R) and Kyoto Ring National (KY2) for the season finale. Over the course of the season there will be a maximum of 1200 points available in the driver's championship and 2340 in the team's championship, meaning there are plenty of chances to score big points in both, especially in Grid 1!
Should you be interested in the championship feel free to take a look at the GTi Trophy sub-section, which you can find in the Genuine Racing league section on lfsforum.net.
See you on track everyone!
