With just over two months until the first round at Aston Grand Prix, the Genuine Racing GT1 Challenge has opened its doors for the and is now accepting entries for the 2014 season, which sees the series move to a team-based league format for the first time. After two very successful seasons of GTR sprint racing we hope to get an even more intense and involving series than before with now two drivers per car having to take on the challenge of 5x 300 km races with a duration of less than 2 hours, a 600 km race with a duration of just over 3 hours and a 1000 km season finale which will be the longest race of the season by far with just over 5 hours of on-track time.
Teams are welcome to enter up to 2 cars for now, a 3rd entry might be permitted if the amount ofo signed up teams is deemed to be too low a week before the start of the season. All races will require each team and car to field two drivers, or three for the two longer events, to race in what on paper at least could be one of the closest team-based series for a long time. All teams will utilise the FZR, a car very well known to almost all bigger and smaller teams in the LFS community, which should make for some very high-level competition throughout the entire championship. All teams will be able to play with a very open strategy window to try to gain an advantage over one-another.
