Hey guys, I'm quite new. I need help in downloading skins for the demo version. 1. I don't know how to download them, and where to put them 2. I don't seem to have a "skins" folder. 3. In the game I can't choose any other skin than the default ones. I'd appreciate the help thank you!
Who would know that a little czech car from 90ies would attract the biggest crowd in RTFR in the past 13 months time - a total of 38 drivers qualified for this race despite the tricky handling of NGT class car, which has been officially licenced by the manufacturer. However 6 of the qualifyers decided not to start and with addition of one wildcard starter a total of 33 Škoda Felicias were standing on grid, using all 3 car's configurations, most default skins and few user skins the field was very colorful. However there were plenty of incidents, eventually forcing 1/3 of the field to retire for various reasons - quite high atrition rate for a 170 horsepower FWD car.
Lagooga wasn't attending RTFR for one year, but yesterday kept doing the same he did before the break - winning,as the lithuanian won both his last attended RTFR race and coincidentally also the last RTFR race in this same configuration (275th RTFR 3 years ago, running with LX6). Yesterday he was the one to beat, however his advantage was really small - he earned his 19th pole position (tied 4th most) with just 0.03s advantage and despite leading all 22 race laps (with that exceeding 200 laps led mark),he finished just 0.29 of a second in front of closest rival, still adding the 10th race win to his stats, while his top5 count now is exactly the double of wins - 20. R.Kardol qualified 3rd,but quite soon climbed up to 2nd position in race, eventually reducing leader's gap under 1 second, clocking the all time 16th closest finish 2 weeks after he was in front of 18th closest finish (now 19th). The all time top5 finishes leader added the 102nd top5 finish to his stats out of 120 overall race finishes. The 15 race rating and current season standings leader Gábor was very close to fastest laptime in both sessions, however could not pull the best out of this car and settled for 3rd place finish, scoring his 77th top5 finish. The brazilian TJ was 4th in both sessions to score his 14th top5 finish,Unite managed to steal the fastest lap of the race in last lap, scoring his 27th of those (still all time 3rd most),but finished just on tale end of top5 to add 94th of those to his stats.

RTFR XL is next on menu and next tuesday it will be quite challenging - a high powered sports car from early 70ies will be run in Aston's configuration with very appropriate name - Historic. The race length is estimated 33 laps, however the lapcount may be adjusted as it depends from polesitter's laptime - full information will be posted this friday. In 2 weeks time normal RTFR will return with one of the street legal cars,as always hints about the combo can be heard during the latest livestream recording.
Is there a way to recover these suit skins? I'm pretty sure the LFS website has the low quality preview image if i search it up, but the link redirects me to the new website that had all images before 2015 deleted
FWIW, I experimented with using s_plate_alp for driver name and number decals - it's hacky at best, and I have only tried a single number/name combination, so I expect other values to break in one way or another.
You can see the explanation in this post about my Coil Cup mod, screenshots attached here as well.
Edit: Alternatively, having access to a transparent user texture would be nice, although I assume it would be a mess to have that in addition to skins.
Progress: recalculated gear ratios and tire sizes according to a detailed French documentation, which I found during work on Lemon Rose (with a little help from a google translate ). Tweaked axles a little according to some tech drawings, created an animation and fixed skins. This is my personal record, the mod is done in 3 days (if we do not count weeks of unpublished work and research, which I have accidentally found on my hard drive, during work on a Lemon Ara update ).
The car is released for public testing. Do not forget to drive it like you stole it and beware of combatant aircraft and potholes. Wipers are movable using "light extra" commands.
Update 7th February 2025 - Rev 4 - Included definitions of E-Challenger EVO AWD, specified sessions each car can be used in and their restrictions, added requirement for skins on both cars to be identical for each driver. Changes marked in red
In addition to the license plate (and its textures s_plate and s_plate_alp that we can use for mods), it would be really nice to also have a way to add a number and a name (I suppose max. 3 digits and probably around 15 characters for the name (or whatever number fits the variables I suppose)), with associated textures s_name/s_number and s_name_alp/s_number_alp, so we could display them on mods without having to rely on adding a special spot in the skin template. Not only that, skins do not support alpha, so we cannot put name/number on windows without making the surrounding region opaque.
Since event signups were just recently updated, and we can choose our number when signing up, it would make sense, at some point, that said number actually be used in game (and automatically assigned if you signed up for the event?).
Most frequent use case for racing, if I'm not mistaken: name and/or number displayed on windshield, rear or side windows, and/or on the dashboard.
EDIT: I might as well ask for driver flag as well, since it's pretty common to see it next to a driver's name, and the game already has those flags.

Rally is a special Motorsport discipline, consisting in challenging Time Trials around different stages.
Every second will count in each stage: you'll have to minimize the mistakes and be consistent through all the Rally event to bring the win home!
Like in WRC, each stage lap-time will be added up to form the Rally classification.
At the end of the Rally (composed of multiple stages), the Top 15 drivers will be awarded with points, forming the overall championship standings!
Some of the rallys will also feature a short Bonus Race at the end of the timed runs: these kind of wheel to wheel races will be an adrenalinic rush after competing against the clock, and will feature precious points for the overall standings.
TIMETABLE (depends on the stage schedule, it can vary)
18:00 UTC / 19:00 CET / 20:00 EET - Free Practice (60 min) 19:00 UTC / 20:00 CET / 21:00 EET - Stage Time trials 20.00 UTC / 21.00 CET / 22:00 EET - Bonus Race
These cars are Rally beasts, capable of 4x4 traction, agile and powerful movements, drivers will thrive at the wheel of these off-road beasts, trying to nail the perfect stage run!
To look good in the race reports and photos and show your personality, creating CUSTOM SKINS is reccomended.

DRIVERS AND TEAMS CHAMPIONSHIP
World Rally Cup will feature a Drivers classification and a Team's classification.
So, every point counts for your team. If you race for one, do your best!
POINTS SYSTEM
Quite simple.
The top 15 drivers of each Rally Event (composed of stages) will obtain points for the overall standings!
- Most of the events will feature an "Autocross start".
This means that when you'll join the start gate, you'll see a countdown counter.
When it reaches zero, you can start for your timed run!
- Each driver will be called for their timed run on connection list order during the first event
- 1 minute of gap between drivers calls.
- From the second event onwards, the drivers will be called in reverse order based on rally standings position
- In the following championship events, the drivers will always be called on reverse championship order
- Rally is a matter of precision: be careful to not HIT objects around the track to avoid TIME PENALTIES
- Bonus Races will feature a normal grid and traditional racing. Bonus race lenght depends on location, but will always be a short affair (Max 15 minutes)
- There won't be the need for a co-driver are there are plenty of road signals around the course.
Anyway, if you want to have one, there's no limitation on that.
Per the regulations, you are required to run a skin with specified elements. This season, we are requiring the following:
Car number on the nose of the car, oriented to be read facing the car from the front, and on both rear wing end plates, facing the outsides of the car.
First three initials of the driver's surname must be on the endplates of the top of the roll hoop structure
Please upload your skins to LFS, and add the skin name, everything EXCEPT the file extension to your signup. You can also post your skins here, or screenshots of your car with skin here.
Attached are the rules for the MRc E-Challenge 2025. Please review them. The NDR Sporting Code is in effect with this series.

I also had to set up a new account, and it looks like the skins I posted in this thread back in the 2000s are lost to time... or they would be, except for the fact that I found and re-downloaded one as reference material for a skin i was making in Forza 3 (so you know that was agaes ago too), so i actually still have a local copy of that one sitting in my Google drive
It's an Italiya Sport Porsche, loosely based on several Le Mans 962s from the late 80s.
