I got almost al the components.

i got everything except the IC's, they arrive on monday.

But i coudnt find any big display biggest i could find where 75mm but with common cathode. The biggest with common anode were the 13mm ones.

I'll make one now with the small display, and maybe later find a bigger one. Or Import one maybe ur just move one to LCD

oh yeah and i got ultra bright leds in 5 dif colors

Cost me €12 for all the components to make one.
i'm going to make 2, so that i have 1 to sell to somebody or as a gift

Here is a pic of the pots. I easily pulled them off from the inside moving big white thingy.

As you can see, i also broke a wire from the Reverse gear selector. And i didnt even touch it. I just pulled the pots out of their place and snap it broke.

I think the wires are way too thin, and they are realy bad soldered.

Now to find these pots

Quote from [RF]-art555 :Just an idea, if there are 2 pots, try changing them with each other to find out if pot really is a problem.

Will try that Maybe tear it up apart tomorrow.

Quote from ColeusRattus :I don't think there are any pots in the G25 shifter... and I think the guarantee is 2 years isn't it? SO just get a replacement.

yes i'v unscrewed it and there ae 2 pots in it. Depending on the position of the "joystick" inside the G25 emulates a button.

And becous i'v unscrewed it i lost my guarantee.

Hi,

My shifter has stopped working after 1,5 year. I can shift but only get 3th and 4th gear.

So i think the horizontal potmeter is ruined.

The shifter works with 2 pots like a joystick. 1 horizontal and 1 vertical. The vertical one works fine cous i can go up and down but left and right doesn't work anymore so it assume its broken.

Could it be fixed if i just solder a new one?

Quote from darkinertia :hi, well i have an extra cobra tt lying around, and im using the gas on the for a clutch and ive seen people use steering wheels as ebrakes and i was wondering how they do it cuz it stays half way on for me while im racing... calibration is very confusing with it lol cuz i cant seem to figure out how to make the center of the wheel, to the left or right

Take the thing apart and build a e-brake with the components from ur wheel?

Quote from Nick A :It is true! It's not too difficult but it requires a lot of soldering, you'll be a great solderer by the end of it. I think mine has around 80 solders in it! Make sure you buy exactly the right components too (the LED display must have a common anode, not a common cathode).

I can solder quite well I have the tools.

And instead of soldering the 25D pins im going to directly guide the cable into the housing.

I think with 1,5m i would have more than enough.
And as a housing i'm thinking about using something like this:
http://www.schmersal.be/cms3/o ... c&showPreviewPic=true

Easy to unscrew and change the battery. And it should be big enough to hold all the components.

Now i just have to find the parts

And maybe with some velcro tape i can stick it on top of my G25, like the CCFL's in my pc case. Or maybe its better to stick it under my tv.

I'm going to make this.

It looks almost to easy.

I can just solder leds to it and give them any function? rev meter, shift light, ...? its almost to good to be true.

Why does this thing cost $130?
$100 for the carbon?

yes carbon looks nice but its useless.
Make it out of plastic or aluminium. and maybe put some carbon foil over it.

And this is handcrafted? A CNC milling machine drills this plate in half a minute.

And a bar of leds and a 7-segment display only costs a few dollars.

problem 1:

When i connect to a server the gauges work fine. But when i disconnect and connect to another the gauges are gone.

problem 2:

How can i switch between the gauges? Corvette gauges don't work for a 8000rpm revving XFG
I tried ALT and lots of buttons together with arrowkeys and sofort but nothing seems to work.

I want to make a analog handbrake as well.

I got a shifterstand made out of alu profiles, its screwed on onto my desk and i have 2 M8 holes for the shifter but i need a joystick first to make it.

i'v added pic of my crappy shifter design.
But iv lost the pics of my shifter stand.

Its finally happend.

After almost 1,5 years of fun, the shifter is broken.

When the stick is up in any position: left, middle or right. I can only have 3th gear.
And when the stick is down i can only have 4th.

So I guess the pot for the horizontal movement is broken.

Is there a way to fix this? Just solder a new one? I don't know if i still have warranty, maybe i can send it back but thats going to cost me a lot since this box is big

Or save up for a better shifter?

Quote from atlantian :Hey i saw some people on youtube with an analog handbrakes. how do you make an extra axis that would connect into the G25?

Buy a joystick?

i'm thinking about using a joystick throttle lever as handbrake, using the buttons as buttonbox and the joystick as a cruise control (throttle -axis) to use in LFS Cruising
