Quote from BlueFlame :Well you'd rather be able to use what you paid for rather than continually waiting for free replacements.

As we say around these parts. "you get what you pay for." Whilst sometimes you can get a bargain quality item, 99% of the time the hint is in the price and when it comes to toolage and kit of the sort, I (personally) only want the absolute best.

Also, you'd be suprised how many warranties actually never get claimed, because the majority of people won't be arsed to phonecall a replacement toolset just for 1 bust spanner.

From the people I know who've used the warranty, they take the broken tool to the store, and come out with a new one - quick and easy. The tools are of decent quality, especially for the (often reduced) prices.

Quote from Klutch :You clearly don't use your tools often.
Cheapies are great if you work on your car occasionally...took me a few years to work out buying cheap replacements is more expensive than buying a good quality set straight from the start.
Snapped so many cheapies doing exhaust/manifold/turbo studs...

If you want Snap-on quality with a cheaper price, bluepoint is win

The Halfords Pro stuff has a lifetime warranty, never had to use it myself though

Quote from Fordman :Yeah that's a Corporate Day and we would not want the track all day, exclusive?

Don't worry about this now Jason, concentrate on your event, as they are fantastic, really enjoyable, just gutted I cannot come.

I might come for the day, as I get back Friday night, but won't do Karting and could stretch to "Cider" and BBQ on the Sat if this is OK. I will confirm tomorrow if this is OK

Regards

Shaun

Would be great if you could come along for a little bit Shaun

Quote from R34GTR :Don't see many of them about anymore, which engine is it?

As Sinbad said, 20v (5 cylinder) turbo.
Currently running 300bhp / 280lb/ft torque. More to come in the future, but need a few more mods - FMIC (planned for this summer), uprated fuel pump+injectors, larger exhaust - should take me to 340-350bhp. Suspension upgrades to finish before then though, and some bodywork to tidy up

I've got seats for 3 passengers , but the rear seats aren't the most spacious... Should be fine with 2 plus me though - some overflow for luggage then if it doesn't all fit in the boot

Does anyone watch the Megastructures series on channel Five?

Last week they were showing how they constructed the Buj Al Arab and it was amazing so see. Every structure and the engineering behind it is just breathtaking. Humans have achieved some amazing things in engineering in all fields.

Mad

I saw that....incredible feat of engineering

Good work

Took me about 13 hours of lessons, but had a gap of several months between some (had most in feb-april, then stopped because exams+coursework etc, had one in August, then 1 before my test in September). Lots of driving with my dad though.

Over 2 years now...gone quickly....many thousands of miles gone too (dunno how many exactly, 15k or so though )

GTi lookalike = 1984-92 Suzuki Swift

1.3, 101bhp. 101bhp isn't too far from 115....

And the 20v 4age engine (toyota), is 1.6 litres, and produced 158 when introduced in 1991. So 100bhp/litre was possible back then (even with 16 valves, e.g Honda B16, producing 160-170bhp back in the early 90s, from a 1.6)

Quote from JeffR :Honda's S2000 was orignally getting 240hp from a 2.0 liter. The current 2008 version use a slightly slower revving 2.2 liter that outputs 237hp. I think the redline was 9000rpm for the 2.0 liter engine, and 8000 rpm for the 2.2 liter engine.

Still has the 2.0 litre in all other countries (UK anyway)

Agree with you, Sinbad.

What do you think the community started with, NikLaw? It was about 3/4 of a year after LFS came out that a 'non-demo' product became available. What happened in that time? Oh yes, we were demo racers.

Ok, whilst many demo racers don't offer much worthwhile in terms of suggestions etc, the same can also be said for many licensed drivers, and many demo users do post good stuff too
