Yeah I have to say.. I'm very happy that I bought this game.
Firstly I have had no issues with the game at all, and to all those people calling this game crap I have to say, it isn't from my point of view.
When I saw all the preview videos I thought that the motion blur was abit excessive, but thinking about it while driving around a clear track it's actually quite ok. It gives you a chance to focus on the track rather than paying attention to the dials *Not that you really need to*.
Out of all the NFS games this is now my fave, the graphics are really amazing and it seems to run really smoothly on most pc's * Myn isn't quite upto data, CPU is abit old*.
As for the sim part of the game, it is a bit yes and no. For now i've set the wheel up for 360' turning and iam using the same force settings in the logitech profiler as I would in lfs. Ok the steering is a tad slow and there is not much movement going on infront of you. With the pedals I have a mixed feeling, I think I will need more time with the game to find out the true feelings but for now they seem ok. And I will say it feels better than grid.
But my story so far, I have started with the ae86 and it does sound close to the real thing, and after thrashing it around the Nordschleife I found that the car is great fun.
Ok, first I will say thanks for the NDR team for a smooth running race
Wow really my first oval event or even my first time on oval maybe since the early FM days. I didnt expect to get anywhere near the top 5, but to hit joint 1st best time with Reno I was shocked. I knew I could do near a 45.89 but Reno was much faster in practice before the quali.
To lead the grid on the a rolling start I was thinking what the hell do I do haha. I was thrown off with Deko talking in my ear of when to hit the pedal and go on the restart. Once we got going it was all ok, I think my only wish was how to pit and when to pit on the oval events. Well to be honest it wasn't so bad once we had that nasty yellow, but I was praying for one after I fell back.
But to end on that yellow rolling along in 5th was great, I felt for sure that I would be 12th on the finish line, at a bit of a cost with reintjan being taken out. But to see Sokke come in on 2nd was a great, and I think as a team we did well.
I'm glad that was posted and fixed, I had that nasty wall grab me and wouldnt let me go haha. But seriously my 500's rear was stuck in the air, couldnt move, thus ended my race lol
Also for Deko. Sure I dont mind, erm everyone could PM me with their names I could run up some sort of exel sheet, simple really. It just relys on other people doing it.
As for server, our CR|Troy had one up and running a couple of days ago. And we had some good runs around Adelaide with some random people * I think may have been from lfs *.
And since half of CR have the game I think its more than likely we could have a server soon, tho im not really sure.
I love the close ratio box The drag race off the grid is classic, all you hear is Baa baa baa baa as everyone bounces the redline. Just be sure to smash 2nd and 3rd quickly
I hope to see some good races tonight, still find im being hit off because of some sleepy driver that cant find the brakes.
Ah ha so you were K Smart Yeah I have to say you can get away with some contact *some*, there is an issue of knowing where the front of the car really is. But so far i've been really close with some drivers, I think it does depend on the connections.
As for wheel locking i've dropped the brake settings down alot, and wont use more that half way on the pedal in braking. The car slows down easily its just the fwd grip thats lacking :P
Ok cheers Moose. I think I may steer clear of the drivingitalia servers for awhile If you could get another event hosted with your team that would be sweet.
Damn and blast to the update coming on Saturday, I've been living for the Friday all week lol.
For Carey. Well there is an option in the garage to allow clutch, and ofc to make sure you have it detected by the game. But as far as I know even with the clutch down and in gear while on the grid, you may find the car roll abit. At least i've had it plenty of times.
Over the past few days i've been in plenty of races where some drivers seem to think they can just dive down the inside of even out brake the car infront. In result i've been smashed off a number of times, ofc leaving the car destroyed.
Now with the Fiat 500 coming I can only see this happening more often because its a tintop. I will just pray that they have updated the collision detection more.
But I take it the DrivingItalia.net servers are always messy?? Or is it just me?
Also 5haz, is your driver name J.Shaw? I think I saw you on a server with the F1600.
On another note. Everytime I go into a server I always find my wheel isn't centered correctly. After leaving and setting up the wheel again its ok. Is this happing for anyone else??
