Fifth Gear did a similar test with similar results very recently. Although the test was far from scientific (read: crap) and Vicky was extremely irritating as always.
I have to say that I'm still using my regural audioscrobbler submission methods, be it plugins or embedded functionality into the player itself - for all my music players: beep media player, rhythmbox, xbox media center etc. ... Can't you re-get the winamp plugin from a third-party site? Because, submission-wise, not much has changed.
That said, I like the new player. It's cross-platform, open-source, nice gui, it displays artist info aside from artwork, it has a nice tag editor, nicer search functionality, allows for multiple artist streams... and IMHO it's not really that heavy on resources.
When I saw the title of this thread, I thought there was a new patch for nkPro. Silly me.
If the major issues (multiplayer etc.) of nkPro which I read about a lot are fixed, then I'll be willing and happy to pay for it! But I won't do that based on only promises...
nkPro has a lot of potential and it's too bad that Kunos had to spoil the fun like this.
Yes it does, you just press "Aston" and then it is the verbose track selection just before, so there's no point to do what you describe. This new menu is just a handy shortcut for the people who are in a hurry.
I think he should be made part of the dev team....
...as a servant!!!
- TRISTAAAAN!!! Make me some tea! Quickly!
- OK, coming right up Scawen.
- Make it quick! I am debugging a new feature. And start preparing dinner for later.
- Yes sir!
- Victor called btw, you'll have to go by his house and do the laundry tomorrow first thing in the morning.
- Gotya.
Hmmm, in the game options, before you start a game, there were buttons to disable each one of them. It took me 5 seconds to disable them. And later I found that there were separate buttons on top of these: "amateur / semi-pro / advanced / ...". So there was an even quicker way.
It is impossible to know all the corners by heart, and still be 100% focused in driving so fast.
It is impossible to remember the level of detail about the special stage, that the co-driver provides.
And it is impossible for the driver to provide all the paperwork to the marshalls by himself, and look at the maps simultaneously while driving between special stages and from/to the service park.
This post really shows how underrated the co-drivers are. They do half the job. The drivers' and co'drivers' lives depend on each other.
And many co-drivers, I have heard, were somewhat disturbed when their names were axed from the side window by FIA. And rightly so, IMHO.
2) A mini guide for screen for anyone not familiar with it:
While in screen: (edit --- this was wrong previously, + some more stuff added)
CTRL-A D : Detach from terminal
CTRL-A C : Create a new "window" in this screen session
CTRL-A N : Next window
CTRL-A P : Previous window
Some useful command lines:
screen -ls : View current screen's.
screen -r : Resume a detached screen
screen -r <number> : Resume a detached screen with PID <number>, in case of multiple screens running (say, multiple LFS dedicated servers)
Not a bad idea. However you can do it "manually"; either pull over and let everyone pass you safely - I've done this a million times myself - or SHIFT+S and start from the pits.
