resizing text logos etc?

I'm working on a skin (nearly finished) but need some advice about the resizing of a logo.
I've ended up resizing each logo and text individually to compensate for the stretch, but am wondering what the best solution is for text along the top of the intake at the back. I've put "BMW Power" text at there, but am not sure I've gotten the best results.

I put this text in its own image and then tilted it slightly in the direction of tilt inline with the back of the car. Then resized it to 70% of the width. Then reversed the tilt for the other side.

Any ideas how to do it better?
Chrome wheels for BFM?

Is there a chrome wheel set for the BFM?

... it would help finish the Valvoline skin I'm working on.

Thanks

Hi all,
Did this skin using the '93 Al Unser Jr car as the idea for the scheme.

btw, any suggestions or comments are welcome.

Question about the new skins in this thread ... did you start by resizing a 2048 x 2048 image into a 2560 x 2048, in order to compensate for stretching?
The FOX pro kit used a 2560 width which was then set back to 2048, then the whole image to 1024 x 1024 for LFS.

I'm asking because I just downloaded the new Master Skinnerz Skin Kit (Thanks to Bunto) and want to make sure I start right.

Thanks

Help with angled paint (top to bottom)
DavidSS
S2 licensed
Hi,
Just finished a FOX skin with a simple angled paint section through the middle of the car from top to bottom. I had to do a lot of goofing around to get the top down sections to line up with the side sections.
I'm wondering how other skinners are doing this ... especially with more complex patterns?

I used the "Master Skinners Pro Kit" to view the layers on a wire frame, and had to move the top down layers next to the side layers ... and mark the bottom and top in order to get the paint to line up. There must be an easier way.

Thanks for any help.
I want to do a similar skin for the new FB02, once a pro kit is available. It looks like it would be harder to do on the FB02, since it has more curves throughout.

Actually, I wanted to make another change to it and didn't bother reposting a pic. The shark mouth and eye is copied from an aircraft.

btw, I've never heard of "Teaz-R".

Throttle blip on downshift: your thoughts
DavidSS

Just wondering what your thoughts are relating to the "Throttle blip on downshift" option in LFS. I started with this option enabled, since I thought it would best simulate real racing, (I don't have a clutch on my pedals). Then I turned it off thinking I would get more speed through the corners with the engine helping to brake. But now I've enabled it again, since I think it simulates real racing. A couple of days ago I decided to relearn my braking techniques to get more speed. I read about trail-braking and have now started to use the left foot on the brake to practice this. In real racing, a driver would use the Heel-and-Toe method to blip the throttle on downshift while trail-braking. So since I don't have a clutch, and can't practice the Heel-and-Toe thing ... I just let the game blip for me.
Also:

1) When "Throttle blip on downshift" is on ... does it seem realistic compared to real driving?

2) Does LFS simulate damage to the drivetrain when down-shifting hard without throttle blipping? (in other words turning off the "Throttle blip on downshift" option in LFS, and then not manually blipping with a clutch on your pedals.

3) Do you get more speed and better lap times with this option on or off? (in LFS)

4) What do you prefer and why?

Thanks felplacerad.
I guess I could have found it if I kept looking, but since the link in the manual was dead ... I thought I'd better ask.
Nevertheless, now that I've got it ... I gave it a try and think it's a great feature.

Now, is there any way to view the World Record laps for each track?

Thanks again

AnalyzeForSpeed?

The link for the AnalyzeForSpeed applicaton listed in the LFS manual is not functional. Anyone know anything about this. I would like to watch WR holders drive the tracks with throttle, brake, etc. parameters to view.
Thanks

LFS S2 unlocked: my thoughts
DavidSS
S2 licensed
Hi,
Just unlocked S2 last night.
Jumped on a server this morning ... grabbed a Formula XR and punched it out of the pits on South City (City Long).

This game is the best racing sim I've ever run!

I'm a big Nascar fan, and drive NR2003 because I like the realistic physics and good feel of immersion ... and this sim does it real good too.

I just about didn't buy into LFS because I recently paid for rfactor, but returned it for a refund due to it falling well below my expectations.

Without getting carried away with too much detail (for now) about why I like this sim so much ... I will just say that LFS exceeded my expectations and I would like to thank the development team for making a top notch racing sim.

David

ps ... got my log in thing figured out, so no need to respond to my e-mail.

Great tire deformation vid Matrixi. I didn't realise how much detail LFS put into their tires.

And another pro slo mo vid. good stuff. Thanks SlamDunk
