Yes there is a flag but the williams and and Hamilton both did an error and were out of the track... So what do you want him to do? Brake and wait till they recover?
Well what I saw Live is that Hamilton had to correct the oversteering and went off the track, what would Kimi have to do? Wait for him to go on the track again? Hamilton should've slowed down and go into the track again but he went straight through the grass. He gained time, but then again anyone would do it when fighting for the win.
Assuming Kimi's move was legal what I could see is that Hamilton shouldn't have cutted the turn but should have braked, that's why they probably say it was an advantage to cut the turn as Hamilton barely lost any time (he was just behind Kimi, enough to stick into his rear and keep up with him even losing the momentum after letting him pass).
I have kind of mixed feelings about this because as Becky just said, yes, he lets Kimi pass but automatically passing him again.
They both did wrong moves - Kimi going out on the 2 times and still WOT and Hamilton cutting through the grass and gaining time instead of going back to the track (in that mix up with the Williams).
Strange situation, probably over reaction by the FIA.
Don't forget that the Ferrari's (or at least Kimi) will have to use the same engine in Spa AND Monza, those tracks are really hard for the engine and with what has recently happened I wouldn't trust them too much.
Edit: Actually, Massa will be running with a used engine on Spa. Pay attention to Massa next race, he might not finish if things continue like this. Both of the Ferrari engines have broken with one GP and approximately 4/5 of the next one.. 500-600km
I can't care less about how many years you've been watching F1. LOL. The track is awesome, many drivers have said it, may not be that good for the spectator to watch, but the track is GOOD. I edited the post cause I didn't want you to post more crap, I guess I was late.. And no, I never go to tracks to watch F1, it's a stupid waste of money when you can see it FAR better on TV. And yes, Jarama is in Spain.
They've said on the spanish TV that the lights turn green as soon as the car is dropped after changing tires, but i'm not sure of that cause most of the time when the car is on it's four wheels ready to leave pits they're still refuelling.
Ace Nakajima And yeah, all the drivers i've heard of say the track is nice. And they didn't have to do any modifications to it as they do on some tracks.
Everyone says something different but what is clear is that a simple engine failure could not cause this. Some say the engine exploded just before touching the ground, meaning that the crash was not caused by the explosion.
About the R26B... The fact that when they opened the engine after the race and it was almost intact and could have ran for another 48 hours straight proves that they are somewhat reliable... or not?
Another thing, a 1.3L rotary is equivalent to a 2.6L 'normal' piston engine, so yeah they are a bit lower on horsepower and their torque is not much better. And as someone talked about the sound, the sound of a tuned rotary is incredible (not to talk about the R26B..) and if you treat them right there should be no reliability problems (street use).
haha, ha, ha... That is a clear example that you just see what you want to see. It seems like you missed the whole championship if you didn't see how the team cheered Hamilton and almost didn't bother about Alonso..
Ok, just tell me something, why did Ron threw the earphones (or whatever you call it) when Alonso beat Hamilton's time (and took the pole). Why when Hamilton took a pole the team and Ron were jumping around and laughing, etc and when Alonso won a race noone everything was as if nothing had happened. Just hey good race. uh.
And all this was before the Hungary incident, where Alonso and Ron explained to the FIA what happened and Hamilton came after and told otherwise, yet the FIA decided to put a penalty on Alonso. Bullshit.
So yeah, Massa deserved the win, and Kimi certainly didn't deserve 3rd place, he did nothing during the race, just screw up. Alonso deserved it more (don't start with the Alonso fanboy), he managed to run @ Ferrari's and Mclaren rithm (not all the time) with a Renault. Piquet also did a good race, I think that (quite lucky) second place gave him some motivation. Although I may be wrong and he's performance will go down again as we've seen pretty much all the season..
