Quote from mrodgers :Nah, I'm thinking it's becoming a bit of showing off. Many others have bought other demo users vouchers before all this S2 contest stuff in the past. No one has before has started a thread to say "look at me, I'm so great, I bought someone a voucher..."

No offense intended please, AlienT, but this could have just been dealt with through PM. No need for showing off in a thread.

Get a grip! If I pay £20+ for someone elses game as a token of generosity - I want my name on the BBC News lol ... joking aside though - you just came over as very jealous.....

You'll soon learn to enjoy this feeling, it's a combination of nerves, excitement and anticipation. If it's a long race then you will more than likely calm down after a few laps, I was in a similar situation when i started racing in the OLFSL .
Go get S2 and you can watch other racers, for tips and racing line etc...also remember when you buy s2 you can still go back and race with your mates on the demo servers.
The wheel will make an enormous difference to your driving confidence, just remember to own your racing line and be in control of exactly what your doing and where your going, i know this sounds bizarre but i spent months just trying to go as fast round the corners as possible until i realised its about the entire lap and going too fast round one corner might affect another...

I look forward to seeing you and your mates on S2 :-)

Quote from AlienT. :Just download W48 and play that, I am pretty sure that it is almost identical to patch X if i'm not mistaken.

Even so I am also excited about X, I keep checking every few minutes....can't help myself.....and I'm bleeding 40

(Note to self: GET A LIFE ya sad sod!)

hahaha nothing wrong with that young man

One possible thought is that of a tiered service.

Paid members get access to a smaller dedicated server and free members use the P2P service.

Quote from RMachucaA :As long as EVO is a part of that team, it will bring them all down with his attitude. He has absolutely no spirit of good competition, we happen to have an accident (going 2 wide into bwgp chicane, i give space he doesnt, but i classify it as an accident, no biggie) And he proceeds to ask me why i didnt appologize, i said it was a result of both our actions and neither one of us is fully responsible for the outcome, it is what it is, an accident. He proceeded to kick me then to ban me. Good move.

I race with all the other redline guys pretty often, and we have a blast... Its unfortunate that such a good teams reputation be tarnished by one megalomaniacs actions. EVO.

Hope to see you all other redline peeps on the servers .

EVO's a woman :P lolol

deal with it and find another server, I've raced on redline for about 12 months and never had a problem...

Good morning Scawen - nice to finally meet you on a server ! any chance we get a clue on your super-duper secret racing alias hehehe :P

Great work on the patch, but 30+ player racing is just insane and it's definately not as full of carnage as i thought.

Quote from liq :I got stuck with FXR on KY1 today. I was in pit, but car didnt move no matter what gear was on, like the handbrake would be on, but it was not. Exit/enter the track didn't help, but reset. I got replay recorded from this situation.

Looking at the Pedals - it shows that your brake is constantly on, I suggest you check your controller configuration...

Very very nice work young man :-) I'll add this to a little demo video on youtube just to show them in action

*EDIT*

If you can make another set in a style of your own, then I can use them in future Original LFS League videos ( with your permission of course )

*sighs* has it ever crossed your stupidly-overlycompetitive little mind that the reason some of these guys are "noobs" is because they cant get peace to get some race practice, i pray for the day a new driver can come into a race and be helped on his way.
And it does happen - just most people posting here are the disgusting underbelly of the LFS community who take great pride in mocking other peoples progress in a game...
What makes it worse is that some of these negative individuals are supposedly well respected members of the LFS community...

I had an extremely hard time learning LFS, partly because of my hot temper - if someone calls me a noob i usually fight back with a tirade of abuse lol - which then usually results in a ban... *cough* crazy harry *cough* but the point is this, the community needs to grow up and respect each other, competitiveness and fair racing go hand in hand.

If you dont enjoy racing against "noobs" heres an idea - go make a private server and give your "friends" the password... then we don't have to put up with your go-damn awful whining in public servers...(but please feel free to come in when im drunk, that always makes me laugh)

Btw - to noobs out there, a small pointer - if your polite and cautious - you more than likely wont find any problems on the track, we all have accidents , we just learn to say sorry lmfao

Quote from LRB_Aly :Ever thought that LFS may never hit it big? Maybe it's too hardcore to attract a lot of poeple (in commercial sense).

I mean I showed LFS to a lot of friends and also let them drive. Most of them were amazed of the car feeling. But they would never buy it because it's a simulator where you actually have to "work" to become better. Not like NFS or TDU where you actually can jump in for a race or two when it pleases you and where you can have fun right away.
For most poeple it's frustrating if they don't get a success experience (don't know if you say it so in english) right away.

If my crystal balls tell me right then LFS will be big very soon - then bought by EA and then turned into Live For Speed:Most Wanted Carbon Underground 12...*HUMOUR*

Here's my 2 cent's, let Intel jump in bed with Rfactor - it means absolutely nothing. As big companies like that will switch alliegances software wise many times.
We all know that LFS is the far superior racing simulator, I can only compare the situation to the entire catalogue of lesser known titles by the public such as Albatross18, Silkroad Online, Pirate King Online etc.
It's just not LFS's time yet but bask in the glory when LFS's time does come because you'll all have been on the bandwagon before it went mainstream

Can you tell I just typed that up ad-lib...hmmm

P.s. hello to all sorry I haven't been around - trying to get a job and a move sorted down so i can live in englandland

The problem is this - the entire process we are using is a unbelievably frugal, on-a-shoestring, it-just-works approach.

Without getting too technical, both myself and Johnathan Russ are pushing the limits of what is capable from a service of this type. It might end up that OLFSLtv is as clear and as evolved as it will ever be. Only circumstances and time will tell.

As well as the technical requirements, the personal requirements for this service are huge. But again thats something that differs from person to person.

One thing I would like to suggest to the Johnathan (I would have done it on MSN but im not on it for this fortnight) is to use the Windows Media Encoder in conjunction with a P2P streaming program.

The x264 codec was a great codec but it rely's on broadcasting software that is unstable at best and cannot be relied upon.

Windows Media Encoder is a much more stable base program for streaming and problems that arise are usually the result of problem hardware.

The problem we had last time was that dedicated windows media servers are VERY expensive, however with the advent of P2P streaming software emerging- it is a feasible option for delivering the OLFSLtv stream.

More as I read up on it.

It is very doubtful that large names as Castrol and Shell will actually sponsor individual teams, however I am sure that you will find no problem getting their permission to use images of their IP as long as you explain EXACTLY what its for and how you plan to use it...
