As Vendetta pointed out, counter steering is a big part in drifting. If you are using a DFP, try lessening the force feedback and actually see if you can toss the wheel around more. Also as some people in this thread pointed out too, use the XRT because of its rear wheel drive and its power, but when using the XRT you must be careful with throttle. XRT takes more throttle control than RB4 and such, and don't try drifting FWD. Front wheel drive cars are pretty dififcult to get correctly. Go into a few servers and ask for help and watch replays and actual drifting videos of in car veiws to see some of the foot work and try to adjust some of their techniques into the game. Surprisingly it's sometimes helpful. For the most part, the major thing about the XRT is the throttle control and countersteering actions. Flooring the XRT through drifts if your not that experienced will just spin you out, and if you're quite new to the DFP if you have one, it'll take a while to get used to the high steering angles and such. Good luck.
Well, its a big thing these days wether an FWD can drift or not but just in simple terms, it can. Although it might be harder to do the things that RWD's can, in simple terms, its still possible. XCNuse, since it seems you know the actual meaning behind the definition of the sport drift, enlighten all of us of it.
Chubbs46, just upload the setup itself so people don't have to go in and switch back and forth to make the setup. Easier on people and it'll make you look better . It's in Live For Speed\Data\Settings\GTI_"driftsetup blah blah"
"Sliding" in an FWD on LFS is fun, so is it in the real world.
Looks like just a show car to promote that certain police department or somthing. Really doubt that they actually go on patrol with that thing. Cool nontheless. And so is this pack. Nice work man
What makes you think drifters don't try to make a fast lap time either? These are all opinion based topics, so nothing can be facts wether you want it to be or not. Drifting is somthing thats fun and also, I've heard from many people that drifting is alot more challenging than regular racing.
About the loosing speed in corners thing, in regular racing people loose corners also to prevent going off the track or loosing traction. So wouldn't that just make them a "wally" also? Drifting is just another motorsport that has evolved through the times, maybe not the best thing in the world, maybe, but it would soon enough. Mostly drifting is used as a side sport, somthing to do whenever you wanna just mess around, but it has been taken professionally too.
Now, looking at the history of racing, I beleive that the whole concept came up from moonshine bootleggers getting away from the cops. That also evolved oval racing. Somthing like that evolves from such a non-civil action. Turn into somthing so "miraculous" thing called racing, yet drifting evolved from just loosing traction while racing. Soon enough to be the whole point of the sub-racing. Which then ended up into being another motorsport.
Well theres my 2 cents.
Edit: Annnnd we've gotten WAY off topic...but maybe until the community could start modifying the game alot more. Then the community could make a tire made for drifting, but that wouldn't be realistic because as mentioned above, nobody uses a drift specific tire.
Ahh, very nice stuff you guys got going on.
Check this video out, it might inspire some more stunts.

Ohh, I live around Atlanta, its not just the hispanics, alot of blacks do it too..., stereotypically of course. Usually its best to either not tint the windows, or just make it black, because a colored window tint is pretty bad most the time.
I think it would be very handy to be able to skin the rims of a car. To be able to make the color more variable if you want a certain color on a certain wheel or somthing. And also it would be alot easier to pick a good color to fit with the car rather than a slider of the three main colors. I think this is a small request.
