the postprocessing took longer than the actual process of scene setting/rendering. normally i do many testrenders to set up lighting and materials so postwork is only barly needed but currently i havn't that much time, so i hope you can enjoy the atmosphere and the feel of the image with the little mistakes in it.

As long you are aware of your gaming behavior and don't close yourself to anything but lfs, i think you are not sick or addicted.

i upgraded from my 7 year old Formula GP without FFB to a DFP. Bought it new for 54€ + 8€ shipping. Best investment ever ^^ The G25 would have been great, but 220€ is way too much for me.
I think for the feel the G25 would be the best, but if you want to drive fast lap times with a precise wheel and don't want to spend much money, get a DFP.

dunno if it's the age or LFS, but since i have LFS (1 year) my average fuel consumption has gone down from ~8,6 to 7,5 l/100km. I drive more foresighted and i think safer. Sometimes i still like driving "rally like" on nice empty winding roads, but i'm no longer driving 200 k/mh on the autobahn or have to overtake everyone who's not driving "my" speed, it's just a waste of fuel.
I think most people will profit form driving lfs, but i have to say, that there could be some morons that learnd drifting or sth. in LFS and try to show it off on public roads. I hope this never happens, but you never know.

well, the next problem is that our internet in our dromitory only has only few ports open, so i can only play the few servers that use the standard lfs port -.- joining by "join2LFS" is pretty difficult because every server is shown and not only the ones i can join.
I may get my own DSL with unlimited ports in 2 month, but till then it would be cool playing LFS ^^

i deactivated private and public servers at the server screen (don't ask why...) and refreshed the list, then the typical "No connection to masterserver" message came. Because i can't connect, there is no server screen where i can change the settings Oo Anyone knows if there is a .cfg or something where i can change this back?

Before i came to LFS i only played 100% arcade racer like NFS, Carmageddon and Gene Rally (really great racer, did cars for that game too on http://www.gr-ct.de.vu/)

I think it was 3 years ago, i got a demo CD from the "Gamestar" (german gaming magazine) with the demo 0.5 h, i think. I played it with mouse and standard settings (auto gear, break help...) and i only thougt: Man, this game sucks! My mouse was way to sensible and it all felt so artificial. I uninstalled it and didn't wanted to play it ever again. Two weeks later i read an article on some gaming website, which rated it like 80% or sth. I couldn't believe this and reinstalled it, but this time i disabled all driving aids and used my old Logitech Wingman GP. I think it was like one of this "Ahh" moments and i realised that the physics are pretty awesome^^ Played the demo then for 3 month till my exams started, so no time for playing and i forgot about the game. One year later S2 was released. Played the demo again, now mainly online and it was great. Wanted to buy it, but i was pretty broke and exams started next month, so again, i stopped playing it. One year ago, my final exams were over and i had 2 month full of free time, i finally bought a S2 license. Now seeing the smaller amount of servers and the high skill of the other drivers i had some doubts if a noob racer like me can have fun with this over a long period, but after the first races with the MRT and UF1 (which i think ended in the back of the field) all doubts about the 34€ were blown away
No crashers, respect between the drivers, really good racetracks, the whole community, lfs world... It's the whole package that makes LFS worth every cent.

As a demo racer you can't press shift U (free view) as far as i know. Buy S2 and you will see

these kind of cars are the only one missing ^^ I think noone needs a musclecar like a Boss Mustung in LFS, it would be just like the FZ5: great car, but not raceable.

till now LFS isn't even using the full features of DX 8/9, so i don't think that Scavier will use DX10, which is as mentiond not downwards compatible.
what i really would like to see is some global illumination and diffuse reflection, like it's done in Trackmania. This would add alot more of realism.
