Quote from zeugnimod :I would guess, its because the FPS are higher, so you can drive more fluent!?

after disallowing some features i get 75 frames (well the pc jumps from 60 and 80 during the hotlaps)...

om my friends pc i get a sticky 90-95 frames.
i'm losing my patience

hello fellow racers.
i play mostly in Blackwood with the XFG car, my best hotlap is 1.33.70
here's goes my problem:

i manage to get 31.3x on the first sector and i manage to get 27.7x(my best is 27.69) in the last sector, what i don't understand is why i can't keep with others racers in the 2nd split...this is driving me absolutely crazy, all i can do is 34.7x and worse.

i'm tired of watching replays, comparing this replays with the Speed Analyser and watch them at .500 and .250 (time) to see the braking points and entries...when i try to copy cat, nothing, nothing...

When i play in a friends pc that is recent than mine, i find the car more stable with the same setup than playing on my own, its a bit old... amd xp1600 with 256 mbytes of ram with a msi 5900 xt graphic card.

Is my pc slowing me down or do i lack something?

Thanks.

i'm very sad to hear so many comments about restricting the game to Demo Players...
Why?
If there's many players in Demo servers that's probably because the game is appealing, and the more demo people play, more people will buy it...that's only one opinion.

1 Track and 3 cars ... is this too much?

wow...like i thought, nobody uses the 3rd view.
damn, i know this is probably a mistake, but i never fancy driving with the cockpit (alwais messing around) and i never liked the wheels view.

i tryed for a few hours a wheel instead of the keyboard (i'm a kb), and i realize that using a wheel, the cockipit view is the best choice.

Till then, 3dr view for me.

Pellit, being a demo racer and using keyboard i strongly advice you to forget the keyboard.
It seems really easy to control, but wait till you starting seeking for fast times, it will become painfull ant stressfull.
Devote (lol) the most possible of time in LFS racing with with the mouse.
And when you buy LFS (oh yes, you will feel the urge to do this), the best choice will be the wheel, till then i think you really don't need the wheel.

PS: I did 1.32.44 a few days ago in BLGP using the XFG, but i took ages, and now this time is easly beaten by mouse, wheel players with a few weeks of gaming.

hey Tukko, i tryed your setups(well, only the BL GP), but the control problems
remains.

I tryed a different kb settings, but it's hard, if i set a higher value in steer rate, i need a high value of return rate and i'm not used to play with high return rates(i don't the wheel to return that fast), if i set a lower value in steer rate, the driving is more smooth but more dificult to manage, i even tryed the KN option only to find out the nightmare of that thing.

Goona keep trying...but that 2nd gear is really making me lose my patiente.

hi thanks for the replys and i think i got...i'll never be able to drive well with the keys, like most guys said, the corners with 2nd gear are reaaly hard to make...

this is what i have in a few tries, but it's damn hard to control the car.

"Its a case of "tapping the keys like a madman" technique. Dont hold your fingers down until you're totally straight, and going through corners you need to "tap" the accelerate key to keep it at half / medium throttle."

Lol...this quick tapping needs a lot of practice...i think my brain would blow before achive this technique.

Can someone check my awful driving?

hi.
i've been playing lfs for a few months, but never gave a chance to the others cars, only played with the XFG.
Now i wanna start making farter times with the other 2 cars and damn...i can complete one lap without making a spin.
the lower speed corners are the problems, it's impossible to me to throttle in the middle of the corner.

i'm using a plain keyboard and i know that several guys with keys can race with the rwd cars...i wonder how they do it.

thnks
need help, plz

hello..can someone give some advices on how to control rwd cars?
i play with the keyboard and before someone tell me to get a wheel, i must say that i'm a demo player yet, only will get one when buying the license.

i can't make a corner without losing the rear...and when trying to set the car right i end up doing a spun.

i know i must be gentle with the throtle...i have set the button control rate to 2.0...but the problem remains.

Any advice please.

i guess demo players can have S1, S2 friends...can they?
or every time a guy buys a license enters wonderland where demo players are forgotten and forbidden...of course it has no use for me.

but if a friend comes to me and says "hey do you know anyone that has a FXO setup for Aston Club, coz i can't find no one in setupfield", what should i say..."hey man go find one for your own, because i'm a demo palyer and i'm not allowed to make this useless and pointless questions in LFS Forum"

Instead i came here to help him.

the setup if for [Fluid] KingNothing.
He's s2 licensed, but not a reader of the forum.
You can find him playing in S2 servers or might check his last race on www.lfs-league.com, Aston National rev Pool 2.

Vendetta: It could really be original .

hi...can someone post a setup for this combo?
can't find a setup anywhere for this combo.

PS: i'm a demo racer and this setup is not for me.
This is to avoid things like "says the demo racer..." and similar.

Thanks.

Quote from NotAnIllusion :[Fluid] KingNothing is a prutty darn fast kb driver, he's a cool guy and can be found on occasionally on the usual top demo XFG servers (FM & NOS). You could ask him if you see him around. Had good races last nite

yeah...i know him.
we used to say that the keyboard is integrated with him.
but he is unique, since i don't know nobody that can follow him using keyboad too, and he seems to responde very good under pressure - more pressure, less mistakes -.
just a side note - he was able to do a 1.31.9x in Blackwood using a setup with 4 hybrids, nobody knows how, since the hybrids in the front ususally don't last long.

just a quick note:
if someone has really, really lots of money to spend - not my case :-( - i think probably the best option would be a force dynamics system.
you can check the demo videos to see it in action.

http://www.force-dynamics.com/

ask it for christmas :-)

Quote from qrac :i also play with kb stabilised and i'm very competitive driving the fwd cars at tracks i know. i'm pretty good with 4wd's too but it's hard to catch a slide when the tail drifts out.

the biggest problem with kb is consistency because u can't make small corrections and thus if u screw up a line into a corner u will suffer a lot more than if u had a wheel and pedals. making a little mistake with kb results in a big penalty.

the 2nd biggest problem with kb is racing against other people. swerving to avoid hitting other cars or to simply make an overtaking manouver is hard because you're not in "complete" control of the car.

u will never become as consistent as u could be with a wheel but practice makes perfect though

i can see clearly myself in this post...
that was my point when i post the thread.

i have tried for a few time a MOMO Racing something wheel, i think it had 270º...but it was not easy to control, since i alwais played games with the keyboard.
Guess i have to start driving with a wheel for the sake of my sins
thanks all for the advices

lol...
i know i should use that..
but i only will use a wheel when getting the s2 license.
need help - tuning the keyboard
fujiwara
S3 licensed
hi all.
as the title says, i need some help how to tune the keyboard.
my pb at Blackwood with XFG is 1.32.86, but i find it very hard to keep doing times close to this, and i'm using good setups.
i'm using the default options in the Controls (kb stable), but i would like a "smoother" kb.
what can you guys advice?
thanks.

the package of Funtex looks great because of the Logo's, the rest is black and white. what i was looking for was the "Fuji...Tofu Shop", "Toyota", "Apex", etc stuff, and since i'm not skilled with image tools. i'm allready racing with the car with a black hood.
