In all honesty i played GTR2 for 10 minutes, dont think i completed more than 3 laps. It just didnt feel right. The car handled like a Fiat Panda i bought in 1992.

Scenario....

Just put my boy to bed and managed to grab a couple of hours on LFS before the wife realised i was missing....GREAT!!!!

So rubbing my hands together i go down to the cellar (My play room) and Logg On.....

BLGP FOX Redline.... 21 players connected, great racing ahead!!! Or so i thought!!

As i joined the race had just finished so i trundled out of the pits and made my way down the back straight!!! BANG!!! Some fool driving the wrong way at full pelt. This idiot's racer name is FORD CORTINA V8. I have come across him before as he is also a regular on this server. I told him what i though of him and carried on.

Next race he lines up behind me on the grid so i think to myself i will make life difficult for him. Green lights, he gets a slightly better start than me and looks like hes coming up the inside to which i defend and slowly shut the door. He then has the cheek to complain that i put him off. I didn't as he wasn't even at my back wheels when i moved over!!!!

ANYWAY!!! The next race there is a large pile up at the first bend to which roughly 7 or 8 cars are affected. CORTINA and a few others shift+R'd and rightly so not everyone did. Cortina and a fellow idiot then decide to start making life difficult. Driving round slowly getting in the way, sending messages stating that they are holding a protest because no one would restart.......

As in previous threads i have made, i am still not a massive fan of banning as it is a game after all and people do make genuine mistakes and get wrongfully punished for it but when you get COMPLETE W"&!*£S like this pair they need to be kicked off for a time!!!!!

DOES REDLINE EVER HAVE ANYONE WATCHING TO BAN THIS SMALL MINDED IDIOTS?????

Having played many sim games over the years LFS is the closest thing to a realistic simulator. I only have this installed on my PC.

I cant believe i have only just found LFS, years of simming and i find it just weeks after my son was born. Whenever i am not changing nappies or making up bottles, im on LFS!!!!



The only other game is ISS PRO EVO.........

I can only praise the Redline Servers.

Not really ventured any further than BLGP Fox as the racing is very fair and as posted earlier MOST racers are considerate and alot better than me!!!!

Its never a nice thing banning racers, every time i see a thread about banning i always think it maybe a little harsh and needless. IMO though Redline can thank its success on weedling out the bad racers by the odd ban here and there. This reputation has payed off as the crashers no longer seem to visit.

99.9% of the time spent on there is thoroughly enjoyable for the genuine users!!!!

WE WILL NEVER GET RID OFF THE ODD TOOL.....

Lte to the thread also, I am Dad to 14 week old George. He hasnt mastered clipping apex's yet but he sure can soak the wheel with dribble without a second thought!!!

I havnt played GPL for years now, i keep hearing it being mentioned and wasnt even aware it is still available....... Just had a quick look on a couple of websites and seen some failry good mods for newer cars and wings.....

Is it worth me rebuying this game?????? Can i still get a copy????

If someone goes off and hits the wall and bounces back on to the track thats just part and parcel of racing, you cant do anything about that. You see people complaining that shift+s should have been used, i dont agree with that, it isnt realistic. It is the mindless careless lack of attention paid when racers are crawling back onto the track in ridiculous places. This can surely be prevented with a bit of attention to the map and a quick look left or right!!!!

I dont think there is much you can do about the first corners on most tracks. Even if everyone tip toes round there will always be some sort of collision. I try and stay well out of it on the outside then pick my way through the carnage!!

Sorry, but the fast car has no right to just pass the slower car, and the slower car has every right in the world to choose whatever line he wants. In fact, the faster car, being behind and presumably a better driver, should never have an accident passing a slower car, as he knew what to expect. It's not like being taken out by a non-braker at T1. If you catch a slower car and dive down the inside, was the pass actually on? If you'd done the same move to me, would you expect me to defend? Then why not the slower driver?

Tristan, i take your point on everything you have replied with but the issue as above i dissagree! Last night the buffoon drifted to the left and forced me into the wall, i caught him really quickly once passed the guy behind him. There is a difference between defending and blatant pushing someone off!! Had this been real life i could have a nasty thumb injury this morning!!!

If i do have an off i never rejoin mid corner. I will take a short trip on the grass to an area that isnt in immediate use. Banning is a definate deterant i think!! Although i dont like the whole banning saga i can see this as the only solution.

I am not normally one for having a rant but today I feel compelled to do so as last night I nearly burst a vain in my head!!!!

Every night I look forward to spending a couple of hours on BLGP FOX on the Redline Racing server. Here the racing is usually really competitive and fair.

Last night however I was ran off the track twice by different drivers who seemed to not see me even though I was almost at their front wheel. I know there have been plenty of threads about this but it IS still an issue. When passing or being passed I always check my mirrors to make sure im clear..... I have a button on either side of my wheel and its done within a fraction of a second !!! (COME ON GUYS PLEASE CHECK YOUR MIRRORS!!!)

You know when a car catches you fairly quickly that he is obviously going to pass you. The amount of times I have caught a much slower car and gone down the inside to only be cut up unnecessarily is really starting to annoy me and I'm sure others.
AND ONE MORE THING!!!!!!

This is also happening more where a back marker will inadvertently have an off and rejoin the track slap bang in the middle of a corner, you come round fully committed to the bend and BANG its the end of your race!!!! COMMON SENSE MUST PREVAIL!!!

I am not standing on my soap box as i have also made these mistakes in the past but i like to think i have learnt by them....

I must admit i have tried most of the other cars but find racing in the FOX really good fun. Maybe i need to open my blinkered eyes and give another combo a go......

I agree also, the Sauber is good fun for a few laps blast but i've only seen a few guys online that are consistant (And thats what its all about isnt it!!).

I think maybe the reason i havnt found any other cars is due to the amount of time you need to spend in one make to become fairly fast.

This may sound like a really stupid question:-

I read the other day about a chap that had just joined the community and he was complementing LFS for having hundreds of servers available.

At the moment my time is taken up racing on the Redline server for BLGP with FOX. The racing is really good with very little moaning between racers who genuinly want to race fairly!

Finally heres the question!
Are there any more servers that i am missing?? I only seem to find a hand full of FOX servers..... There must be more!!!

I have recently borrowed my brothers FF wheel (stated above). Never used FF before and am getting a bit frustrated with it. Its great going through corners but when im on the straight it knocks from one side to the other slightly. It feels as if the car has something loose and the wheels are about to come off (If that makes any sense??!!??).

Hope its not a simple config issue and i'm being a tool illepall ....(As Usual)
