Hi all!

This new version is really great! i have even made a sound for the UF1 based on the BF1 sound files but with much lower frequencies!

And also it would be great if we could add some transmission noise even for the cars which still don't have the engine sounds samples

The magic light just gives the "relative" best changing point for the setup used. Which is different for each gearing.

Thank you for this That will help me learning swedish

Also you can reduce negative camber a bit, and reduce pressure at the front, increase it a bit at the rear. Maybe add some anti-roll bar at front, and remove some at the rear.

And also maybe try to run LFS in "high priority".

Check that you don't have applications such as "object dock" or winamp running at the same time on your desktop.

Because actually i also have some problems when they are running, and it is solved when i close them.

Ah ok, thank you for the explanation .

I would say the same, as it keeps an insim port when you make it "read only".

But what is the FF step please?

Quote from herki :I think it's possible to get it running with Becky's LFS Companion, found in Unofficial Addons, becuase it has an InSim/OutGauge relay

I've been trying because it would be a great combination, but i couldn't...

If someone knows how to do, don't hesitate to give us the key

Quote from tristancliffe :The throttle (on a gasoline engine) controls a valve, usually a butterfly value or a slide valve, and controls ONLY the volume flow rate of air. In a carb it is the pressure drop across the venturi (which is affected by throttle position) that mainly controls the fuelling (on a simplified carb, obviously it's rather more complex than that), and an an injected engine it is either an electronic or mechanical system that decides how much fuel to inject based on throttle, load, rpms etc etc etc.

To say the throttle controls the fuel directly (as I understood you to have implied) is wrong.

Of course, wthout combustion there shouldn't be combustion sounds, but that is the limit of the LFS engine. But a real life engine will develop noises due to work on the air itself, and the volume/tone of that noise will be controlled by the throttle valve.

Take an engine. Remove fuel system. Spin engine (either via transmission and road friction or by alternative means) up to a decent speed, and it will make airy noises. Hell, get a tube with a piston in it, and move the piston - the tube will make a noise.

I never said LFS was perfect, just that it wasn't far wrong.

Actually on most injection cars, the injection is stopped when lifting the foot of the pedal ( engine braking ). And as you say, it still makes noises.

But actually i would think in two contradictory ways.
Indeed with throttle opened the engine doesn't have to force much the air in. But compression will be high since the air in the cylinder should be quite close to 1 bar at BDC.
At the contrary, with throttle closed, less air should be admitted and moreover the engine has to pump harder. Thus more frictions and forces that would create structure borne noise. But during the compression the forces should be lower, since the pression reached at TDC would be less.

So actually i don't know what to think

Quote from Electrik Kar :Maybe there's some good free sound samples over at the freesound project

Thanks for the link
Actually i am looking for a sound that i will convert to .ogg, and play it as "in race music" so it will make some environement sound, even if not surround.

Hi all and in particular Yama-T!

Thank you for this mod!
I know nothing about Outgauge etc, but is it possible to use the relay from LFS Companion by Becky Rose?
Maybe with some other port than the strange thing with 55?@?@ ?@
It would be great to use them combined!

Thanks!

I just think that a signature is not a CV, or an auto-biography
When you sign any document you don't write 5 lines.

Even if the Dyane is based on a 2CV, they are two different models.

Honestly, man, you are asking a lot a simple questions about quite "famous" stuff. Try to look around before asking in a new thread.

Finding the solution by yourself is how you learn

Do you know the Clio RS 2.0 16v? I guess not, this is not really a kind of boring car. Maybe that is why it is so much used in rally?? héhé

Quote from Racer Y :I too like the idea of engine tuning - in theory. It sounds like a great idea.
Only as been said before. it would only last a short time. Everyone will be running the motors the same way. So there really wouldn't be much of a difference. Also, making a decent set up is hard enough with out having to
fool with displacement, piston stroke and making sure the crank is balanced.
I think in the long run engine tuning would have a negative impact on the game overall. It would get so bogged down in technical details, it would kill the fun factor. plus, you'd have a lot A LOT of mismatched and unbalanced races until everyone settled on the "uber set-up".It would also pave the way for cheating. How would you know if someone wasn't just using a macro?
Nah. The idea of engine tuning is kinda like political ideologies. it works great on paper, but when actually applied, it sorta sucks.

Contradictory I think
Moreover, i would say that if you are not good at doing a setup for the chassis, you could find here the chance to fill the gap!
