Yeah when I use my game pad I have it set the same as my RC handset, so obviously I can't throttle and brake at the same time, but when I use my wheel and pedals I still have this......is it my setup then?illepall
Not sure if this has been mentioned - so apologies if it has and feel free to delete.
Whilst sitting in neutral I can rev the engine, but if I apply the brake it stops the engine revving! I can understand it whilst in gear - but in neutral?
Or is this something to do with having combined axis for throttle/brake?
One slight snag - mrodgers highlights the risk of hitting someone as you don't know where they will stop. If you only see your pit banner when you pit it doesn't stop you hitting someone as you won't be aware of which pit stall is theirs if they are in the pit lane too.......
How about showing the pit stalls for anyone in the pit lane while you are there?
Okay - What I'll do is open up the case to have a look at the PSU later. While I've got it open I'll use one of my R/C cooling fans to blow on the card and see if that helps while I race on cockpit view.
Is there anything I can have on screen showing temps - I've seen on here before people quoting CPU temps and such?
Thanks for your help JakG!!
Edit: Got to go to dentist later so this may or may not happen tonight.......
PSU - don't know. Am at work at the moment so will have a look later on. Any idea on what the minimum requirement is? 350 / 450 / 550???
Overclocked - Nope - never touched it.
Overheating - again don't know - how could I find out?
Okay - I've had a look back through the forums but can't quite come up with anything like my problem - so here goes.
I seem to have a problem with my graphics card. I can race in chase view and get a good 90 - 100 FPS all night long. I can race in wheel only view and get 140+ FPS, but if I choose cockpit view I will get a good frame rate for about a lap or so, and then ----- nothing. Whole graphics system shuts down and I get a message on screen saying "no signal" or something like that.
I don't get any green dots or slowing down - it just goes "pop" and nothing. It's annoying as since I became S2 licenced I prefer to race the open wheel cars from cockpit view, but with this problem I cant.
Is my card FUBAR? Is there anything I can run to test it - like a benchmark program - and if so where do I get one? Is there any way of monitoring the system to see what's happening when it shuts down? It looks like an overheating problem but it's weird - is cockpit view really that much more process intensive than say chase view?
Over to you guys - try not to baffle me with tech speak too much if you'd bee so kind!
I run an analogue gamepad, but I have no way of turning down the sensitivity it seems. Trying to drive the FOX and it just darts everywhere and sends me into a spin.
My MS Sidewinder wheel is better, but still I find that I'm well off the pace.
Please can we have the option to move the minimap!! Having just become S2 licensed I find it very difficult to learn the circuits and remember where I'm going when the map is being covered by text all the time. I've tried "-" to block messages but some still get through.
And yes I'm well aware that I can race offline to learn the tracks, but it's not the same as being out in competition and watching other peoples racing lines......
I finally got S2 licenced like I saidI would - and the whole experience has completely taken over my evenings!!
Loads of cars and tracks to choose from - I don't know where to begin!!
Only trouble is now I have to learn to drive all over again as the more powerful cars are a lot harder to control - especially with my MS Sidewinder wheel that seems to have no dead spot adjustment.......illepall
When are the most popular times (in GMT) that people race? I tend to go on late evening and although there may be 400+ servers, there are very few poeple racing?
Would there be any way to link the "restart" option to the "collision detection" feature seen on some servers?
What I mean is that if your car has been detected to have had a major collision, the opportunity for you to vote for a restart is removed.
Yes - it may not be entirely fair on someone who has been wrecked in the first corner, but it also takes away the ability for a first corner wrecker to keep calling for restarts too............
No - I haven't experienced all the cars you are correct.
As for not liking racing........... 25 years racing R/C cars, 19 years as a marshal at Brands Hatch & Lydden Hill - I think that qualifies me as liking racing......
I should have quantified my statement clearer Blonde11 - I was referring more to the type of vehicle rather than the racing environment.
As I said - I will be making the step up to S2 shortly and building myself a racing rig - the advantages of a bachelor pad .
But in the meantime - don't just flame the Demo racers. If I did that to every new member of the off-road R/C car club I help run - who ran a base model car to see if he likes racing before upgrading his equipment and spending £'s - I wouldn't be part of the most successful off road R/C car club in the South East.........
And of course - being a demo player means I'm not entitled to opinion, and I get frowned upon for "merely" being a demo player.
The fact that I'm will be S2 licenced in a few weeks when I sort my house move will of course magically promote me to the ranks of the worthy will it? Or will the fact that I've not been licenced as long as you still make me a less worthy driver.......???
Stop being a snob and looking down your nose at those of us that as yet haven't taken the plunge. See you in a S2 server soon.........
